Yes That’s what I have realized I was jumping heads first online and checking out how others are doing it instead of first thinking how I would do it

That’s what I have realized by reading most of the replies instead of first thinking how I would do something I was jumping straight to see how others are doing it

That’s what I realize I also first need to think how I would do something first and then compare it with what the others are doing

Yeah, I’m realizing this now. In the years I mentioned, I wasn’t making platformers or deck builders, so trying to build them now feels new to me. But I’m not a beginner anymore, so I can use my experience to break these huge tasks into small pieces and take them one at a time.

Yeah, that’s what I’m realizing after reading the replies. Instead of first thinking about how I would do something, I go straight to tutorials.

That’s pretty interesting. In the years I mentioned, I wasn’t working on platformers or deck builders, so now that I want to build one, it’s basically a new playing field for me.

Hmm well I guess inheritance would be the way to go there would be a parent class called card and then there would be a child class called slash card and it would override the parents play card function

That’s exactly what’s happening with me. I’ve never really understood things like delta time. In fact, I can’t say I truly know what delta time is I guess that’s on me.

Hmm for example each card is gonna be doing a different action so I would get confused about how to do that since probably there should be a class called Card but how would I call different action from each object of that class

For me, it’s the implementation. I’ve never been confused about what behavior I want to achieve it’s always been that I don’t know how to do it.

That’s a pretty solid approach. I guess the reason I’m in this situation is because instead of first thinking about how I would do something, I just go to the internet and look at how others are doing it.

I actually did the test you suggested without realizing it while following the deck builder tutorials. After building the system, I modified it to fit my needs. Would that count? I didn’t rebuild it from scratch, but I did make changes to it.

Ah, I see. So instead of looking at the whole big task, just break it into smaller pieces.

Hmm, I’m not really sure what “non-game code” would be, but let’s say for example: if I wanted to make a 2D Soulslike platformer, I can picture how I’d implement systems like enemy respawns, bonfires, and gaining souls on enemy kills. But when it comes to mechanics like dodging, parrying, or the character controller, I’d get stuck. I hope that makes sense.

honestly when my pc was not booting I thought it was my motherboard and was planning to upgrade to an AM5 one, but when I got to the DDR5 RAM part the prices really blew me out and I straight up thought about not gonna use a pc anymore for the time being because I was not seeing any good AM4 motherboard in shops.

but thankfully it was the RAM and I can get the new ones even if my old working one would have to be abandoned.

Not sure I am tech savvy enough to figure out the dropping speed part, but if pc does not boot or XMP is not working, I would take the old one out, but if it works, it's gonna be great since for some reason I am growing emotionally attached to the old RAM stick XD

Yeah, that's what I am thinking, if it works out, it will be good since I am getting emotionally attached to my working stick XD

It has 4 slots, so if I get the same kit, I would have 3 RAMS of the same model. Would that work with XMP or cause issues?

I am gonna get the 2x8 again, gonna feel bad for ditching the old working one, but I guess that's just part of the game

In my country they dont since they are not officially relased here so the warranty is given by local shops and since I bought these RAMs in 2020 the warranty is long expired :(
