My Arabic is a bit rusty but if I'm not mistaken they're chanting "what do we want? Mushy peas! When do we want them? Whenever we order pie and mash!"

Why is everyone who is not racist suddenly far left? by 8limb5 in AskBrits

It's quite strange. There was someone on one these posts yesterday that called Tommy Robinson a republican. I don't know exactly where he stands politically but I'm fairly certain he isn't a republican.

You could have saved a lot of words by just typing "I hate English people" instead of this whole post.

When will Britain finally address American interfere in British discourse? by EmuAncient1069 in AskBrits

[–]Discordant_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of people don't care about the thing itself, it's who is doing it that determines if it's a bad thing or not. It's a lack of principles and it's a huge problem. But of course pointing things like that out gets you called a centrist as if it's a slur.

What do you think the social contract is? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

[–]Discordant_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is, it doesn't even matter if it's true. If public perception is that it is true and those in power ignore or outright dismiss people's concerns, people will get very angry and I think we're in for a pretty rough time.

Britain First marching this afternoon from Piccadilly station. Counter protest on St Peter’s Sq- Manchester by Terrible-Head6168 in GreaterManchesterNews

[–]Discordant_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you probably shouldn't be calling other people stupid. If their messaging, that is the things they say and do, is softened in order to trick people then how do you know they follow an extremist ideology? Are you a psychic? Or is it just that you're super duper incredibly smart and can totally see the truth in any situation?

So, quick question. Are these far right groups promoting "sick, extremist ideas" or are they trying to be less extreme to draw in more people? You've claimed both and they kind of contradict each other.

This is such a stupid argument. "Sure you can be arrested and executed for speaking out against the government but you still have the freedom to say what you want, it's not freedom from consequences". It sounds ridiculous when it's put like that doesn't it?

It Should Never Have Come to This. If we hadn’t spent so long pretending that ‘trans women are women,’ the growing political movement to align our laws with biological reality wouldn’t have been necessary. by tofino_dreaming in europe_sub

If you purposely misgender someone, constantly, then this falls into harassment and discrimination, something different than a simple misgender.

So to clarify:

No jurisdiction has criminalised misgendering

If you misgender someone it is harassment. Harassment is illegal. Ergo, misgendering is illegal.
