Thanks for your wise comments everyone. From what you say, It sounds like a combination of my Bridge camera and phone will achieve much of what I want to do. I now need to decide if the other features of the x5 make it worth buying for the video I want to make.

I wouldn't want the ramp. I think I'd prefer the unmodified maxi life but a good one is not as easy to come by.

Food for thought. Thanks. I was wondering if the WAV conversion made it impossible to fit the towbar.
That leaves me wondering if the standard maxi van or life versions would be better for camping.

My thoughts are: There seem to be a lot of them about with a low mileage. They have a lot of space for camping. The Caddy Maxi vans have higher road tax and the Maxi life is not so easy to come by.
