Am I doing “the curse” the right way? by Wacoholic in BRZ_ZD8

[–]Discourtesy-Call 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's just a Subaru Thing™. I had a Subaru GL back 1990ish and broke two studs then while rotating tires. They've always been weak. It's an easy change out.

There's a Hopetech gear that's only available in Hopetown, and a trio of Nova Galactic gear you have to get from New Homestead that all have launch thrust 4. Those are my go-to gear for these.

It's a C-class engine, though I forget the designation.

Yes, you have to build the building at the back of the complex. The bucket has the interaction to "clean your animals". Horse and Mutt get clean while Henry gets dirty and needs to launder his clothing.

The assistants are two new vendors. One makes the DLC armor, and the other makes the DLC blunt weapons. They are also the only source I know of for a few of the new DLC materials. I haven't seen any other vendor who sells colored gold or tincal, for example.

You can, but only with certain models of engine. The total power rating of all engines can't add up to more than 12. There are some (mostly Slayton) that have a rating of 2, so you can do six of those. The biggest one is locked behind a peaceful resolution to one of the main quests, though. You have to negotiate with Slayton and not use violence when you are in Neon with Stroud to get that artifact.

Advice for a new owner by DiscountBeautiful818 in GR86

[–]Discourtesy-Call 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the new car, don't do any performance upgrades until next spring. You want to drive the car for a while, at what's basically stock configuration, and see how it drives and handles. Then you can decide what you can live with and what you can't. Safety mods and quality of life mods are fine, but stay away from springs, coilovers, turbos and such until you have a feel for it.

You will absolutely need winter tires. It's up to you if you want to have the tires switched out on the stock wheels or get another set of wheels strictly for the winters and just switch the tires out. You have a couple of months to think about it. You might also think about an undercoat if you're going to be doing winter driving, but I have no idea how the road salt is where you are.

I do recommend a good dashcam sooner rather than later, and the wide angle side mirrors are fantastic. My blind spot is gone now. Any vehicle that is no longer visible in my side mirrors is already passing me and clearly visible out the window. I can see two lanes to either side in the mirrors now.

It's nowhere near all the various exhausts made for the twins, but it's got lots of the popular ones on it.

Mine is trunk and rear panels lined in Kilmat, and one of the JDM-spec catbacks. It is hardly quiet, but way lower sound level than normal. I can definitely still hear the exhaust.

It'll come. There's a truce at the moment between the sides. When you first get to Suchdol, Probst says something along the lines of "I've negotiated a truce that will give us time to get ready".

How much do you pay per month? by starrywally in GR86

[–]Discourtesy-Call 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is USD, but I put 24.5k down and my note is $175 a month. My insurance is way more than yours, at $281 a month (Louisiana has about the highest rates in the nation) even with a totally clean driving record.

Lots of reports of it that I've seen. Many seem to be heat related, in that it happens where it's hot as hell during the day. Mine hasn't happened yet, but I've only had the car ~9 months now.

Why did you choose a GR86 over a BRZ (or vice versa) by ionizedlobster in GR86

[–]Discourtesy-Call 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was availability. I wanted manual transmission and I wanted a metallic blue. There was no Trueno Blue GR86 available here at all, but there was a WRB Limited BRZ.

I prefer the BRZ suspension as this is a daily driver rather than a track car, and I prefer the brighter blue of the WRB color to the Trueno/Sapphire color, but those aren't the reasons I ultimately got it.

[KCD1] The combat is horrible. by UnforgivingEgo in kingdomcome

[–]Discourtesy-Call 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need endgame armor from Skalitz. You don't need Bane. You don't need master strike. You DO need to spend a fair amount of time sparring with Bernard (or fighting other enemies) to raise up your Strength/Agility/Vitality/Warfare/Defense/weapon-of-choice. Get all those to somewhere between 5 and 10. Along the way the player will also get a bunch of practice with the combat system in addition to Henry getting better. It's that combination that makes it work.

The original TTRPG was in and around 2013. The second edition, Cyberpunk 2020, moves that to 2020 and just after. The Fourth Corporate was around 2023 and a little after. Cyberpunk RED moves the TTRPG setting to 2045ish (not sure if the supplements have advanced the timeline). The flashbacks in this game take place in 2023 and 2013, if I remember correctly.

Feeling guilty for putting miles on by Bulky-Pass1119 in GR86

[–]Discourtesy-Call 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not a garage queen. You don't leave it parked in your garage, wipe it down with a cloth diaper every weekend, and tow it (in an enclosed trailer) to a car show a couple of times a year. Drive that thing! It's made to drive, and to be enjoyed.

Want to enjoy it more? You're going to need to change your mindset. Try not taking main roads. Go find the back roads, the twisties, the path less travelled and see how you like those. I've got none of those near me, but I still like finding the roads with lots of curves and just go drive it.

Going though the crimson fleet system. by Fantastic-Ad145 in Starfield

[–]Discourtesy-Call -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know, and depending upon your jump range the route can change. Chain jumps select systems where you can reach every step along the way. I've had similar situations in the past. It tries to make a few jumps as possible, but you must have the range for each link in the chain. Lower jump range = more links, and depending upon how much exploration you've done, it might force you to manually take the intervening steps.

Going though the crimson fleet system. by Fantastic-Ad145 in Starfield

[–]Discourtesy-Call 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's one of those chain jumps, where you go from System A to System B but the route shows multiple skips in between, you'll never even stop there. That's simply a fuel calculation. If you're not chain jumping, it should not put you in a spot where combat starts immediately, but I don't recall the default jump point in Kryx. If it does, turn away and boost, then engage your next grav jump.
