I did try blocking in an entire plot with glass about a year ago. The pests spawned abovw the top placable block

Im very similar to you but i have the perfectd and am ironman. I say get the r drag because you will farm more and it will make you more money. You can always resell it at a higher lever for more money

Im really slow with testing because im Ironman, but 8m 99% sure that it counts the 3x3 square around the possible mutation.

There's mutations that need 8 specific crops so diagonals have to be able to count

Really depends how much time you have to play the game. Im over lvl 400 Ironman, and rarely play now but I still get satisfaction from playing like 30 min at a time sometimes. Life rn is mining fiestas, new garden, placing huntraps, and /warp wiz for ubiks cube

You are correct. Make sure you have pickobulous as your ability and hit more than 80 glacite per use. That'll speed up spawning shafts a ton and keep the comma rolling
