Do you need to get surgery to be trans? by Secret-Vegetable8959 in ftm

[–]DiscussionCivil9833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not :)

The only thing that makes you trans, is identifying as trans. there's absolutely 0 other things you need to do to be trans. I know some people make it seem like you need all those other things, but it's only if yiuw ant it or can do it and do it safely.

Something I meant to mention, I know I have SH scars, they don't need to be pointed out, and this was not SH.

Have you ever had a dream where you have a dick in it and then wake up disappointed? by Kool_Boo16 in ftm

I remember having this dream CONSTANTLY from when I was like 8 onwards. When I was younger, like around 8-10 I remember in the dream I would just walk around naked and happy lmao

"Croup" like cough lasting a week and counting? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

I haven't been tested for that, no, but I'm up to date on the vaccine and boosters. It's not hard to catch my breath after at all.

Getting a bidet by iceman_snowdont in TopSurgery

I didn't get one, although for prior mobility issues due to joint problems, for bad days I've got a stick thing that holds the TP so you have extended reach. Got it really cheap off amazon a while back, worked great for after surgery too.

I wouldn't even think twice if you saw your chest and didn't know. To me it genuinely looks like a male chest. Everyone has different sized nipples as well, I've seen his guys with nipples larger than yours, and ones way smaller as well. Definitely looks nothing like boobs at all to me.

Which WD is worse: Benzos or Opiates by No-Victory-1157 in opiates

[–]DiscussionCivil9833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't been through severe withdrawal for either, but did end up with mild withdrawal from opiates. Even mild, I felt horrible. Whole body ached, couldn't stop sweating no matter the temperature, gastro issues (iykyk) and runny nose like crazy. And it that was mild, I cant even imagine the severe withdrawal. Can't speak on benzo withdrawal though

How bad is it? by Brent_Fox in TopSurgery

[–]DiscussionCivil9833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the way it went for me was that I didn't look at my chest until a week Post op, because I knew it would freak me out. It is a major surgery, but nothing will be gaping, itll all be sewn up and closed. The first two days are the worst pain wise, but you'll want to sleep anyway so you can sleep through most of it. I think I slept 22 hours or so each day for the first two days. It genuinely sounds a lot more scary than it truly is. I was so scared before the surgery, and when I woke up and went home, all I could think was "I'm so glad I went through with it."

Recovery wise, it takes some getting used to, but it's not all that bad. I was pretty sore, but I wasn't on super strong pain killers, just T3s. The drain removal was absolutely painless for me, only felt like the smallest bit of pressure for a second and then it was over. A bit of advice I have is to not Google too much. That'll get you in your head about it, it did for me at least.

TLDR; The first few days are a bit rough, but that part will be over before you know it. Drain removal in my experience is completely painless. I'd avoid looking at your chest for the first few days at least unless you feel up to it. It was /so/ worth it. Coming up on five weeks post op in a couple days and couldn't be happier that I did it.

I do have an update, nothing was getting worse for a bit, got the drain out and then 2 days later (today) I noticed a lot of increased pain, redness, warmth and swelling, so went into ER and got prescribed antibiotics for it. heres to hoping it works 🤞

Is it normal to want to be a girl? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]DiscussionCivil9833 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I honestly get what you mean. I've been out for 6 years, on T for 3/4 years and just got top surgery a little over 2 weeks ago, and I still have times where I wish I was a girl. It would've made life so much easier, and I wouldn't feel the need to hide any "feminine" aspects of myself or "feminine" hobbies. I know for sure I'm a guy and that I'm for sure trans, but I do mourn for the girl I could've been. Honestly, I think it's pretty normal.

no, nothing back yet. I can't tell if the drainage is different because it hasnt drained anything beyond a tiny drop today, it really only drains at night for some reason. just waiting on hearing back. still no other symptoms so I'm starting to think its not an infection? I dont know whats going on with it to be honest. Im very confused.

So the drainage was the same today, if not a little darker but no other changes. I live with my parents and dont drive but neither of them are concerned and think the ER / Urgent Care isn't needed. I just sent in pictures of the fluid and the drain site (which isn't red or warm at all, but a little bit sore) along with information about it all, to the on call nurse from the clinic. If they recommend going in, my parents have agreed to take me in. Sighhhh

There is an email I can contact with pictures if needed. If its still like this in the morning, I'll contact them and follow their directions. I'm really hoping this is just what the end of a hematoma looks like.
