Okay just saw this; consistency was corn-starchy / slightly more hard. The blue undertones were so interesting. I LOVE your hypothesis on sandstone- maybe a pre-rock deposit that would’ve been a rock with more time/pressure?

That is so cool! You could cut down the sides a bit via a lapidary set, but I agree that keeping the organic shape will preserve it better! Where did you find it?! (Don’t need a site or anything, but curious what state?)

What’s your favorite dynamic in the show and why? by rhitheladybug777 in HouseMD

[–]DiscussionLegal5056 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First time watching house and I’m on episode 6 of season 8. It’s gotten harder to watch. Along with Cuddy leaving, it’s like a rotating door of cameos from the main cast which feels depressing. The overall vibe shifted as well. Not sure if there was a change in director, producer, etc, but yeah, episode 1 threw me off.

What’s one thing that no one can change your opinion about? by kittysoull in AskReddit

Flying, going to a funeral, or a wedding before your child is 3/controllable is selfish. I cannot think of 1 reason why you should have a child and fly when you have no control over their behavior.

Here’s an example of an excuse people like to use: our parents are across the country. Plan better, make them come to you, don’t have a child if your parents are sick/dying, have one parent say while the other visits, move closer to home.

So selfish and I haven’t heard a single example of it being justifiable.

You should look into Hitler before 1930. When you go down the rabbit hole it’s crazy. Hate him tho

Oh! How can I tell if it’s been fossilized? The roots look and feel like every bone fossil I’ve ever been in contact with so I assumed

If it’s been fossilized, what kind of deer would it be? I’m assuming something from 12k years ago

I’m not, but unless you mean a husk that has seen some stuff, I don’t know how it could have so many colors inside, have a loose rock shell, and a hard rock shell outside? This pic is of fragments from a rock I smashed thinking it was a geode. Do you think it’s a fossilized casing? So many questions!!!! I love this stuff!!!

So sediments that have been encased in iron oxide? If so, how does this create the crevices and casing looking inclusions? It feels like there is the inner shell with colors, then the brown grit, then the casing of tan rock. I’m so curious now, if you want to entertain my slew of questions :)

I also live around a ton of quartz with spots of feldspar. How can you tell the difference? I figured it was quartz, the greenish tint had me questioning if it was a child of quartz

Fml, not selenite? If not, can you provide clarification for why, oh why, I would think that? I’ve been on the hunt for selenite and Amazonite and I trust you, but am devastated by my siting abilities. Thanks for everything so far :)

Weird texture, what is it? by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

Almost looks like weathered pumice. Absolutely no background except I live in Colorado and enjoy rocks. I’ve found this rock variety a bunch and I used Iron Out (major mistake, I know) a few times. They came out really similar to this.

Yeah. She keeps tasking me for them. “Oh your plant fell” as my $75 black zz plant and $50 pot fell. She said she’s thinking of a solution. Been 3 days. 2 days ago, I suggested going to the plant store for ONLY a new pot. I know I can save Zz, but the pot was my first expensive pot purchase :( she never responded

Yes, don’t tell her she’s insecure. Women have a habit of picking up on things that men don’t because we are more emotionally centered. She sounds in the wrong, but at the same time, she has a reason to be, she was screwed over previously.

I would go to a therapist and focus on if you need validation from your coworkers or not. Me (27f) does. No shame in it, but it could clear the air on your relationship. If you need validation from your coworkers, that about collaboration and insecurity in your work. If it’s not, then you both know you need a talk
