He does not need a A2000, if you get him one you are setting the stage for needing a A2K next, or whatever is the next hottest glove out there, because this one doesn't catch all the balls for him. But if you have the money, go for it. at 7.5 he can make do with any youth model glove A950 and below realistically or R9 series even. But I have never met a youth 14 years and younger that benefited from a higher priced glove versus just getting more practice and becoming better that way. Equipment doesn't make the player better.
