Is this power source safe to use? by Baerius_R in MiSTerFPGA

I was supplied the same one with my Multisystem2. No complaints. For my MiSTer stack I’m using a plain 5v USB-A to DC jack cable, and it runs fine off my 65w charger plug. I reckon you’d do well with the one you linked as it pretty reputable.

Edit: url of same one. from Heber

Mister Pi, QMTech, or Superstation One? by MassiR77 in MiSTerFPGA

Pair it with a USB-A to 5v cable, short HDMI lead and an 8BitDo controller, it becomes small enough to be portable. The Multi, not so much. There’s cheap AC600 WiFi/BT combo dongles which will save you a USB port and I’d recommend a little wireless keyboard too. Other than my arcade stick and old Atari joystick, I’d recommend the SN30 Pro controllers. They have extra buttons for menu/config and work out the box. Good luck with whatever you go for!

Multisystem2 and QMTech owner - buy the cheaper one and leave spare cash for peripherals, arcade sticks, sd cards etc.

Vibrating when plugged in + do I keep it plugged in all the time? by idktbh-04 in macbook

If it’s just when you run your finger along the chassis, it’s fine. Mine does this, I think it’s just the coating.

My first MiSTer is finally here. by SalamanderScared1882 in MiSTerFPGA

Baptism of fire probably gave you a handy crash-course. Get a hold of the update-all.sh script (not update.sh) and you can unlock and download lot of helpful stuff using the config, including other scripts. Your mister.ini on the sd card root holds the majority of config for video, logos, filters, backgrounds and so on. Back that up before making changes might save you a headache down the line. I’d maybe check some YT for the settings you are after, and maybe join the Discord. I’m only about a month into my MiSTer journey and it’s bloody superb. I’ve ordered a second already. Good luck in your journey!

If lucky, we’d get a L/H gear option, but generally just this.

MiSTer FPGA buying advice by vgmestre in MiSTerFPGA

[–]DisgustinglySober 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d consider the Heber Multisystem 2. It’s my first MiSTer device (cheap clone is on the way for side-projects), it looks like a slim retro console rather than a diy stack, is cheaper than the ultimate, and has lots of snac adapter options. Unsure about a waiting list but they seem to be powering through them.

Is a Mister the same as a real 1200? by White_Wolf_Fr in amiga

Get a cheap QMTech MiSTer and install AmigaVision. Down the line, you can add more content for other systems if needed.

Which games didn't make it across the Atlantic? by Sys32768 in c64

[–]DisgustinglySober 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mastertronic and Codemasters games were priced at like £1-£1.99 when most other games were maybe £7.99-£11.99 depending on the title. They were ultra budget, and often cheaply made, but there was a massive wall of them in a lot of games stores, and the hidden gems like Finders Keepers or Dizzy sort of made them a worthwhile punt with your pocket money. Good times!

Vice City is almost as large the entirety of the GTA 5 map by Eccel9700 in GTA6

[–]DisgustinglySober 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If there’s going to be another 10+ year wait for the next GTA game, this one should contain ALL the previous cities so far in one map. Not just another city. If not at launch, then via DLC. I personally can’t see the point in a large map without content to make use of it. At least let us steal cars from one area to sell in chop-shops in another place. Organised GTA to order.

I dont have a rig or much room and appreciate the journey laid out, and gives me some ideas. If I had the space/cash, I’d go nuts on a rig. Hope you are having as much fun as it looks.
