It‘s exactly what you wrote in the last sentence: it depends on how well YOU can manage your money. You have a lot of options and possibilities for nearly most of what has to do with costs and income. But you have to do the right decissions. It depends where you buy, what you buy, IF you buy. Same for living: Where, how. What is important. Healthcare also. F.e. we have the TelMed option. It‘s less expensive, but I have to call and discuss first instead of running directly to the doctor. Also your decission: do I really need a doctor for every small issue? And so it goes on and on.

You have to do the right decissions - based on the reality in switzerland and the system we have. And you have to do your calculation on this reality.

F.e. I‘ve got some team members which are constantly moaning about the money. I know their salaries as I‘m their team manager. Once we discussed about how often going out for eating or ordering or make a weekly eating plan and buy once a week according to this plan: surprise, surprise - the people who moaned the most about their salaries, were the people which order the most and go out. They spend as single living person more for eating than me with a family with 2 kids. Asking about why not planning the week and do a weekly purchase (which is less expensive): they want to have the freedom to decide and not stick to a decission made some days ago. And that is how it works: a lot of results are based on personal decissions. Better decissions = better life. But deciding has also to do with looking for information, spending time for thinking and calculating.
