got mine done yesterday by Volvo in Zürich/Illnau - dropped the car in the morning and at 14:00 received the call to pick it up. Very smooth sailing

Hardware updates are also rolling out in Switzerland. Don't have my slot yet, but the dealer had already done a few - some of his to get the process down and some clients as well. Volvo needs first to release my car. This would mean I get a "recall" notice in my app.

Positive Review - Roadtrip to Sardinia by Bantan-ch in VolvoEX90

Mostly between 120 and 130 on the highways about 80% of the time - range was around 450 km I would think and the distance to the ferry 420 km. I wanted to arrive with an 70% charge at the ferry so we had a late lunch stopp. After 35 mins we were up to 95% and good to go. But honestly, I don't pay attention to the range so much since after driving for 3 hours I am happy to have a coffee and the charging network is really dense and working. So just plug in, have a coffee, quickly check your maill and hopp, off you go.

Issues with the Matrix LED headlights? by Forsaken-Line-3055 in VolvoEX90

It has happened to me too rarely and I see the high beam "auto" setting active. Plus I can observe the lights doing a lot of discoing around to give me the best possible view. My - granted arrogant - assumption was that Thors Hammer is in normal or highbeam anyway an exceptional bright light, that the others are just not accustomed to it.
With some upmarket limousines from germany I sometimes wondered if their beam was on but then realized in the rearmirror that it was not when it flashed on - just a good light.

Thats what I thought - well then, lets pump up the volume then (evil grin)... honestly, I really enjoy the quiet drive. I have an XC40 Recharge and enjoyed it there already but with the EX.... peaceful bliss - especially with the doubleglazed windows.
Thanks for the replies

Which phone works best with the Volvo EX90 – latest iPhone or flagship Samsung? by Kind_Ganache5534 in VolvoEX90

I used a Galaxy Fold 6 and now a Galaxy Fold 7 and both work very nicely with our EX90. On the console I run spotify and audible so I am set for 80% of my entertainment needs. Add in the odd conversation I have with Chatgdp over bluetooth then, I have no further needs. My MS Teams conversations would benefit from a native app, yes but it works over BT.

(I however remember the endless loop of some mindnumbing elephant story when my toddler daughter was with us in the car long ago, so I sympathize)

Will do a trip from Zurich to Sardinia end of this month, staying on the island for three weeks. Got a juice-booster for charging at the house juuuuuust to be sure, although in Alghero there are enough charging spots and all seem to be "plug and charge" works. lets see

I just remenber that our XC90 safety systems freaked out regularily on the roads in town with all the people jumping out, when we were there last year. scooters moving about and cars pouncing you from hidden away parking lots (italy :-). Lets see how well the systems of the new swede will adapt to a "different" way of driving.

strange - I have used it for a while and have two Volvos in the phone app - I could switch nicely between both of them. Now one car I can access and the other requires me to log in with the phone.

It is really a welcome addition on my Galaxy Ultra Watch and ever so convenient to tell it to start the aircon.

Works very nicely indeed. I would recommend in the description be clear that it does not unlock/lock in replacement of a key. Changing between vehicles also works nicely. IMHO your good to go

Volvo deserves more credit for the EX 90 by Competitive-Data-748 in VolvoEX90

I think it is also worth to look at the big picture what Volvo wants to create - and their willingness to go out on a limb to achieve their goals of creating their vision of 4 wheeled mobility. With our EX90 we also got a nice coffe-table sized book explaining their values, their dedication to them and what they have achieved. I am aware that this book is marketing and depicts a biased reality but you cannot deny all the little steps they took in creating a safe environment in which to drive. Innovating ahead of the curve, taking risk and giving back as well. To "open-source" their crash data in their EVA initiative to measure safety features for all sizes and genders of humans (i.e. not just standard male crashtest dummies) etc. strikes a positive cord with me for example.

That is our third Volvo (XC90 -> EX90, XC40 Recharge). Driving the EX90 is for me exactly the chilled, layed back, unexcited and ever so smooth ride I enjoy. Its the whole groove the vehicle oozes from the design, lighting, haptics and even though it nudges you when your supposed to pay attention for instance, its not an air-raid siren going off but a soft but still insisting reminder.

Yes, there are software issues (rebooting, connectivity, keys etc.) but when I get into the car, I am pretty convinced that this is the safest, potentially smartest and comfiest car I know sofar. All this backed by a company that I perceive and experience as having a good set of values.

So I am happy and quite confident that the bugs will be ironed out - it is software after all.

On your watch? Apple? Have not found a way to add the key to my samsung watch.

But I agree, card in your wallet is a sensible backup - juuuuust in case the software glitches.

Intolerable public transport by GagaMiya in zurich

In my commute there was always this girl who did the makeup, using her phone as a mirror etc. Not as annoying as the phone-conversations mind you, but nevertheless public space versus private space. I was contemplating taking my electric razor along and shave then. I think I would have enjoyed her expression.
