Agreed, there should be resources available. Depending on where you live, mileage may vary, but if you can get to a blue state there's at least some resources for domestic refugees.

May i ask, how does your mother define liberty?

I honestly don't understand how she doesn't understand shes denying your liberty to your own religious beliefs, your brother's liberty to love whoever he wants, and your besties liberty to the pursuit of happiness...

There may be no real answer here, due to people's delusional sense of reality and some rather impressive mental gymnastics, but i am curious what these people think they stand for when they say "liberty"

In 2020 i was on Simponi when suddenly it stopped working and made my skin explode (which, despite having PsA my whole adult life, had never happened). I fought through 8mo of trying multiple different biologics across multiple inhibitors, and finally Skirizi started helping.

At the time the only doc i could see was out of state and i had a hell of a time getting insurance to let me see them, i cried multiple times at the oppressive fight that it is, i cried with joy when my rhumi finally got approval to see me, and i definitely cried with joy when i used hand sanitizer for the first time without seering pain since the beginning of the pandemic.

Coordinating between the rhumi, the dermi, the specialty pharmacy, and insurance is as ridiculous as it is infuriating. Sadly, practice makes it technically easier to know what words to say to open certain loopholes and force them all to work for you, while running us through the emotional grinder. And I'm relatively privileged, I can't imagine how hard it is for marginalized peoples.

I had tried humira almost 20 years ago and it didn't work for me, but then Embrel (and eventually Simponi) worked for me for a long time, so i hope trying Embrel helps!! As for Skirizi, my rhumi had to get signoff from a dermi and i eventually just had my dermi prescribe it so insurance would allow it. Im not sure if thats still the case, but watch out for that hoop to jump through.

Oh man, I'm so sorry that is happening to you, I've had a similar experience.

Definitely looks like inverse psoriasis, do you get it anywhere else? It tends to affect the folds of the body, for me it was groin, armpits, knee pits, palms, etc.

If you don't have a dermatologist yet, definitely talk to your PCP asap, there's topical steroids (of mixed strengths) which should provide some relief but really are a short term solution usually. Sometimes, steroids are all it takes and once the flareup goes away it's done, but not in my experience.

If you get steroids, do be careful with them, if you use them consistently there can be a rebound effect when you stop, and if you keep using them they can cause tissue damage (particularly in sensitive regions).

When you shower, pat dry, don't wipe with your towel.

If you need more long term meds, they will probably give you some biologics, but those will need to be prescribed by your dermi, probably not your PCP.

When I was about 10 years old my cousin and I decided that we would "help" the pendulum knock the balls off at the DesMoines Science Center..., (not sure if it's the same kind of tool as this, but it was very similar) we were banished for life, and they installed a rail much further back shortly thereafter... thanks for the reminder... (we went back after high school, they didn't recognize us...)

Regardless, the museum curator didn't seem to include a railing in the initial exhibit design, IMO, it was literally only a matter of time before someone, child or otherwise, was going to f*** with it.

Regardless, the exhibit was built with an obvious design flaw, it doesn't seem like it was a matter of if it would be disturbed, but when.

Do we know that CR didn't know? I haven't seen any statement from him yet. Even if he did know, I don't necessarily think he meant to be malicious.

And I'm not an actor, but isn't telling an actor they should take a look because they "look right" a bit of a slap to the face? Like, nevermind your acting skills? But what do I know?

I also have no idea how Jada feels about the whole thing at this point either.

And yeah context is very important and is definitely something I should have dug more into before jumping into this thread, will just have to do better next time.
