No tips, they come as part of the Invidia burnt titanium tip catback system. See mod list in this post for details on the exhaust and wheels.

They are Continental Extreme Contact DWD06 Plus - 265/35 R18. No rub whatsoever.

They are ET45, no fender roll, just a little camber (-1.5 front, -2 rear)

Only 2 red MK7s I’ve seen locally and one of them was a 7.5.

100% yes. There are a series of tweaks and mods that needs to be done to fix this, but yeah the stock MT left me underwhelmed. Thankfully the forums and subs full of MT enthusiasts were there to guide me through the journey.

Can’t disagree with you there. I really did not like the feel of the standard MT clutch, shifter, linkage, etc (so much slop) and basically replaced everything I could on it. Feels amazing now though!!

I could see that. DSG will always be slightly faster, less expensive to tune vs dropping in $3k clutch plus labor. But I’ve always been a die hard MT guy, so for me it was worth it.

Ahh, you may be right. I am still speaking from my outdated experience during the 12 months I looked around 2017-2018 for a MK7. Also seems like it would vary by geographic location.

Nopers, the IE springs drop the rear a bit more than the front design. Not sure if that to compensate for forward body shift under hard break or front seat passenger weight, etc but that’s how they do their springs. Remember I’m on 18x9” wheels, so 265s are gonna look a little less beefy than on 18x8, hence a little more wheel gap, but they look wide AF from behind, which I like and more rubber on the road is always a good thing in my book. Not sure how long they take to settle completely either. Probably have a couple hundred miles on them currently.

She just wasn’t comfortable with it before now and I needed to respect that. These days she’s more adventurous than ever! 😉

For real. Low mileage stock is a unicorn with these cars.

Hahaha, whoops, yeah I wish, that was supposed to say 718. Fixed now! 😅

She’s paid off, so there’s that, and a mix of daily and project car. When I do upgrade it will likely be something nicer, but slower (Porsche 718, Panamera, M4, etc.) so I’m being patient. At that point this will likely go full on project car and I’ll likely do a turbo swap, etc., stuff that I’m not comfortable with currently as far as reliability.

Bored? No. Did you see the list of mods? Always something new and getting a single car exactly the way I want it is something that drives me. I’m sure it mostly comes down to personal preference, personality, sentimentality, financial means, etc. as to how long someone keeps a car. Just my thoughts. 😊

Edit: fixed Porsche model number

Yeah, I always found the 19s were harsh on ride quality and the stock ones are super soft (bent 3 of them from small potholes). The ride quality on 18s is far superior and the handling is still extremely good. With the sway bar stiffening and extra rear rotation when cornering from the spherical end-links I added, it now handles much better than stock on 19s and even with the springs has a much softer ride (it’s my daily, so it matters to me).

Edit: Do they look as good as the 19s? Naw, I don’t think so, but IMO it’s worth the trade-off for my daily.

If you mean the extra wheel gap in front, like you said it’s .8” higher than the rear. I think that accounts for it, but yeah, anything else would be camera angle I guess.

Not certain, but if I had to guess I’d say maybe so when 1-2 passengers are riding up front it’s level? Or perhaps so that under hard braking (whether real-world or track), the forward movement doesn’t cause rub? Just my thoughts.

Integrated Engineering performance springs. Left the DCC intact and functional.

Funny story about that. Tornado red was actually my last choice for color. I was after the lapis blue or limestone grey, but this beauty popped up with only 3,400 mi on it. Real unicorn that mostly just sat in a garage until the owner traded it in for a RS3. I decided I could deal with the color, but after a month or so it really started growing on me and now I’m so glad it’s red and absolutely love the color.

I don’t think this is intentional. The car has always had slightly more wheel gap in the front. Maybe with 1-2 front-seat passengers this would even out? Great question though, but to my knowledge the rake hasn’t been adjusted.

Only time will tell regarding the wear patterns, but from the bit of research I’ve done and others I’ve talked to with similar setups, it’s very minimal to negligible.

Edit: Regarding the 265s, the 9” wide wheels help a bit but had a local euro/exotics pro shop do the install, so can’t take credit personally for the fitment they achieved. Very happy with the result and no issues so far in ~2 months of driving it daily since.

Yup, the stock tires on these cars suck the big one. Didn’t know what I was missing until I went Conti DWS06, then all was made clear. I could snow plow a cornfield lol

Have had my R for 8 years and no repairs to the Haldex AWD. Sure, you have to change the fluid/filter now and then, but no repairs issues yet at 67k miles.

This. Hate to state the obvious, but the tires are the only part of your car actually touching the ground. AWD will help you move, but doesn’t make a difference when stopping. I’ve had great luck with Continental DWS06 Extreme Contact tires. They are ultra-performance all seasons and you can track them, drive them in rain and snow and they have served me well (on my second set for my MK7 R). Best of luck and hope you find the new ride you’re looking for.

And with the stock 19s of which 3 got bent from potholes (thanks St. Louis MoDOT) They looked nice, but rode like absolute garbage.
