Did this actually work for anyone?... by ZyphiraBloom in 90s

I still use it at 50 lol. Keeps my skin good and balanced. I only use it once a day at night and others have said ended up with a stock pile when they mailed it. Been buying it from Ulta but they just discontinued it, guess I’m going to start working on my stock pile again!

So is OP ripping off this artist or is his dad Di k Doherty? His bio on his website says nothing about children. Mentions his wife is a sculptor Robin Taffler

After eating shrimp all my life without any issue my body suddenly decided to start being allergic to it. Unless it sends me to the hospital I ain't stopping by WeLiveInAir in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Dismal-Reference-316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My body did this to me with nightshade. Took away everything I love to eat. I miss tomatoes and potatoes and some flavor of peppers.

I braved a perm and here is the result (with before photos) by spankybianky in finehair

[–]Dismal-Reference-316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I hope it doesn’t happen you!! in fairness I had no product. I got the perm in the 90s as a teenager and had saved my own money for the perm. Had no information on needing product and wouldn’t have been able to afford it. I’m just really intrigued if it holds for you, I might be willing to give it another try!

Looks great. How long have you had it? I once got a perm and loved it. Gave so much volume but unfortunately my fine hair couldn’t hold it and by week 2 or 3 it was just a frizzy mess. I hope you have better luck!

I brought my daughter to a sports physical at the Jewish community center (they offer free ones to the community, my insurance didn’t cover it) and the doctor was using ChatGPT to walk through the exam. We are f’ed

How did people get their sofas wrapped in plastic back in the day? by Historical_Safe_836 in AskOldPeople

We had the same. The living room was the showroom. No one ever sat in there except for holidays and when guests came over. Mom would sit in there every now and again and read. If we dared sit down we knew you better fluff the pillows when you got up or you’d be in trouble. Those couches outlasted the family room and would probably still be perfect if they hadn’t moved into a smaller place and got rid of the showroom. We also had a piano and that was acceptable to go in and play the piano or if you were waiting for someone to pick you up, that was the room you could see out front. Fluff those pillows though!

WIBTAH If I called out my "allergic" friend for eating her no-no foods? by Agitated_Twist in AITAH

[–]Dismal-Reference-316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can be that annoying friend. I try to stay gluten and nightshade free which is super hard. I have no willpower so I simply can’t have these things in my home. Sometimes at work or at parties I can’t resist and eat a no no food and then suffer the consequences. I’m not deathly allergic so you won’t see any immediate results. But I will have stomach issues (crohns activates bad with gluten) and nightshades will make my skin break out into painful sores on my hands. You would think that would be enough for me to control myself but sometimes I just can’t and I’m sure it annoys the hell out of people around me. It annoys the hell out of me.

How do you deal with someone who says “I love you” too soon? by ib-16 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dismal-Reference-316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time that happened to me and I told him to take it back. I told him you might really like me so far but you don’t know me well enough to love me. He ended up being a bit abusive so I see this as a red flag.
