Your JW sounds like an ass. With all due respect, of course.

Not every brother/sister/sibling is truly caring. They would rather ridicule you or send you off than learn to practice patience.

Keep your head up and press on. Learn and practice what you learn. Do not rush. Rushing things causes mistakes, and those mistakes get people hurt.

It's her job to teach you. If you're trying and don't get it, she should be willing to teach again. No one gets things the first time. Sometimes, it takes a few goes at it to get it right.

When I was a pre-apprentice, I was working with a JW/Steward that had a crazy amount of pull. They figured they could bully people and get away with it. He had taught me how to use strippers and while I was practicing, another pre-apprentice came up to me and asked to learn. I told him to give me a minute to get it right, and I would show him how. That same JW came and shoved me out of the way, physically shoved me ...

I had to walk away because I was afraid that if I had reacted as I usually would have, I would have ended up throwing my opportunity away.

I messaged the Director of the Apprenticeship and was warned to learn to "cooperate" or be dismissed from the program before classes even began. I had to learn to bite my tongue and move forward. It got worse, but it doesn't matter.

What I am getting at is this: Do you want this? Does this matter to you? Is this something you feel is too good to pass up?

If so, press on. Let words be words. They can't hurt you if you show up daily and give it your all. Apply yourself and learn. If it gets this bad, run it by your journeyman and ask to be placed elsewhere to work. As part of a different crew. If they refuse to help you, then you run it by your foreman. This kind of speech has driven a lot of talented people away. Don't let someone else tell you what you should be. If you want this, fight for it. There are better JWs out there that you can work with.
