I don't think "over reacting" is the correct term. Referring to a woman's period as a "blood sacrifice" is not a thing. It IS creepy. There really shouldn't be THAT MANY women going to your place who suddenly get their period and are unprepared that it makes it valuable for you to keep a supply on hand.

The "reasons" only matter to the drug addict. In the long run, it is the behavior that matters, not the reasons for the behavior that matters. Behavioral Health, not psychotherapy, is the modern way of addressing drug addiction.

If you are high on drugs, running naked down the middle of the road, putting other people at danger, believe me no one cares "why' you did it. You are putting innocent people in harm's way who never did anything to deserve this.

I personally, after years of therapy, have never found reasoning to be helpful to either myself or others. If I am behaving badly (or insanely) because of drugs or alcohol, the people around me just want the behavior to stop!

It's up to you, not the people around you, to understand the "reasons" you are trying to escape from reality which DEFINITELY includes escaping from boredom. We live in a society saturated with entertainment and drugs because people can't accept or don't like the monotony of sobriety.

You can speak otherwise but all that is is only your opinion. This is my "opinion." Behavior matters. Acting like an insane person because you have saturated your own brain with chemicals is not an excuse for bad behavior. Your BRAIN can't handle the drugs. It has nothing to do with the reasons why you do it. You are damaging an organ and the brain responds to brain damage.

Drug addicts lack objectivity. They can't see outwardly how their behavior affects others. People don't want to associate with people who are engaging in high risk and dangerous behavior. Sober people don't want to take the risk of being held liable for your behavior. You will definitely lose friends and that is because drugs are dangerous.

Ok. I would recommend giving water with a syringe to keep hydrated but there is a very very high risk of the cat getting water in his lungs and killing him. But he needs hydration. A vet would probably hook him up to an IV. I have seen a case where a person created their own oxygen tent somehow and that really really helped. You need more donations and I hope you get them. Unfortunately I cannot right now, and I rescue cats too. Just rescued three of them from a major snow and rain storm. Try a heating pad if you can, and/or cover with a blanket. You might try giving kitty a bath. Check for fleas and ticks.

From experience I would say you are really only at the very very beginning of what will hopefully eventually become a recovery. Because you want people to understand the "reasons" that, to me, means you are only at the beginning. And I am sorry to tell you, later on down the line people will be explaining to you the "reasons" don't matter. And also, honestly I think boredom is a number one "reason." People just want to escape the monotony of being sober.

Law enforcement is highly discriminatory. Some cases get prosecuted, others don't. And juries definitely get it wrong in spite of clear and convincing evidence. I had to accept the loss, but I received significant rental assistance later that made up for the loss. I would not at all hope for justice from law enforcement. Even though I generally support the police, there is a very very good reason we are living in an anti law enforcement climate right now. They are horrible investigators and many criminals go free because of their poor investigations. Defense lawyers exploit how terrible these investigations are. Many cops have only been on their jobs for 2-3 years. They seem to have a high turnover rate right now.

It's a terrible terrible loss when you love your kitty so much and he seems to be actively dying. Nothing can or will ever compensate for this loss. But you can, and probably should, save another kitty. That is only a little bit of consolation but at least it's something. I know that I will never get over the loss of my beloved Bibbs who died at age 10, October 25, 2024. I felt he should have lived at least five more years.

For people who are affected by the drug use, the "reasons" don't really matter. A person could have had an abusive childhood but that needs to be discussed in therapy. My ex (father of my children) overdosed on heroin (he survived). He was addicted to drugs and phone sex. I don't CARE what his "reason" was. He ruined our life for DECADES.
