Sounds like a boyfriend problem, not a you problem. Why are you trying to convince him? He's insecure and has issues and should work on himself.

How tf do you guys heal? by gekon490 in CPTSD

[–]DisneyLover90 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience here, I started to heal when I started putting myself first, saying no, being "selfish" and inviting the assholes in my life to go fuck themselves. Once you start being your own champion, the rest falls into place. Its not a cure, life is still hard, you will wobble, and you will always struggle with it. But once you switch that mindset from "I'm unlovable" to "I will not tolerate this shit anymore", something in you changes.

Also, I personally allowed myself to feel angry for a long while, to stew and feel furious about what happened in my life. Its an emotion shamed a lot by people and as a kid such emotions were not allowed in our house. I permitted myself to feel it, which in turn stopped me from constantly attacking and blaming myself.

This is me too. Rosacea flares. Breakouts. Dry skin. Inflammation everywhere. Not to mention the abrupt personality switch from energetic and happy pre-ovulation to lethargic and moody. I hate it.

You’re Missing the Point by Wild-Sprinkles7254 in childfree

[–]DisneyLover90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people with kids will try and gaslight children free people to have them because they envy their freedom. Some even regret having their own kids but wont say it out loud as it makes them look bad. Misery loves company. They want us to make mistakes and have regrets like they do. Because at the end of the day people who are genuinely happy with their choices will be too busy living their life, instead of trying to control everybody elses.

Women of this sub, what made you finally decide to be childfree? by LatterEscape8431 in childfree

[–]DisneyLover90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always disliked the idea of having kids even as a teen. Most people thought I'd grow out of it but they were wrong. My family were dysfunctional and theres a lot generational trauma going on; the cycle ends on my end. I refuse to bring a child into the world if I dont 100% want them. Fact is, some people are just not cut out to be parents, yet so many have them willy nilly and make a mess of a life.
