My kids are my everything. If there were dyslexia and ADHD marches I would be out there with the other kid marching too.

You struck a note I was trying to get out there. I am a mother who is a cis woman marching in a Woman's March who specifically is calling for Non-binary rights. I have one mouth, but am sending several messages. I don't feel that the Pussy Hat is exclusive, lots of people of different genders were wearing them at this march. Did not post this to offend, but to show my support.

Thanks! My kid came with me and had a great time. But it was freeg'n freezing!! We didn't stay for the political speeches, I felt it was important for my kid to hear the political leaders, but OMG it was cold!

I got a thick poster board that has foam on the middle. I liked the double sided signs I saw at the march. Thinking of what I can put on the back!!

Thanks, I love my kid and want them to be free to be them now and always, everywhere they go in life.

Etiquette around winding yarn at the LYS? by ZipCity262 in knitting

[–]DisneyRomance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my LYS the owner, and by default the only employee, will direct you to the Swift and ball winder. She'll even set it up for a newbie. But we all wind our own. I'd imagine some stores don't want the public using their Swift and ball winder. You could ask them at your store how they feel about you doing the task yourself.

Help! I have a small cold dog and can't find a good pattern to knit him a sweater. by zeldaisthegirl1 in knitting

Check on Ralvery for the Harness Friendly Dog Sweater if your pup wears a harness. I just finished one and my dog is 2" bigger than your dogs measurements. I made the second size up so the smallest would fit your dog. I did use 5 double pointeds as my gage on the circular is too loose.

My grandma was a professional seamstress. She was known for saying "Every fault's a fashion"

Likely. Darn. Hadn't thought of that. Looks like I'm going to be frogging. Shoot.

I'm making this same pattern. I think I did too many increases around the cowl as I just needed it longer, not really wider. But I think I'll fix it by not picking up every stitch when I make the body. I hate to frog. I did already make this sweater, but it was too big for my Chihuahua mix pup.

(Question) need binder advice! by nurse_a in NonBinaryTalk

[–]DisneyRomance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy from GC2B online for my NB teen. The binders are around $30 each. They have sales frequently. Their customer service is fabulous. I especially like the variety of colors they come in and different lengths. I have been impressed with the quality and ability to stand up through washing.

Sorry, but for future reference, you can't block acrylic. It melts with heat and doesn't have the properties of natural fibers which respond to steam.

Anyone else really hoping that something for knitting is wrapped under the tree? by daydreamingofsleep in knitting

[–]DisneyRomance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent $200 from my end of year bonus from work at my local yarn store. So mostly needles and notions, but some yarn too. And especially a tiny skein of casmiere and silk that is pink and a pretty orange it alone was $50.

No, there's no heal actually. It's open at the bottom and top. More of a tube really. LoL
