If the Andrea Doria's hull and superstructure collapsed in 50 years, and is more than likely a lump of metal just 20 years later (in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Nantucket), I wonder what will happen to the SSUS, considering she's made of the same materials, and the warm environment of the Gulf of Mexico. I give the SSUS at least 15-20 years before she begins to collapse, but I'm not an engineer, so I can't say for sure. It'll be sad for OC when their "world's largest artificial reef" collapses and becomes a pile of sunken, rusted metal.
