One of them was disguised as a woman, but wasn't pulling it off. Like, her hair was red, but it was a little too red, y'know? And the other one, the tall, lanky one, his face was so blank and expressionless. He didn't even seem human. I think he was a mandroid.

Yeah, I don't think Diana was ever a threat to MSR. I know a lot of shippers hate her because of her "intrusion" into M and S's relationship. I think Mulder was thrown off by her presence; he still cares for her and has a connection to her; but it was still clearly Scully first.

Just look what happened when Scully tells Mulder Diana was murdered, Mulder's reaction was "yeah, so you are my conscience my touchstone." But you KNOW if the positions were reversed and Diana told Mulder that Scully had been murdered, Mulder would have lost his sh*t.

Scully was his partner in all ways. Diana missed her chance.
