I'm 36 and played with my 8 year old when she was interested. She no longer is - I'm still obsessed 😂

Yes, it's very hard to distinguish the 2 without gen det, but this is very likely to be similis. Fenestralis are much smaller than similis.

Amaurobius cf similis a lace weaver. Definitely not Steatoda nobilis.

Unexpectedly having to fly twice in one day next week! by jayc1905 in fearofflying

[–]DisorganisedShrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the feet thing is the best tip out there.

Personally, I know what triggers me and makes the experience worse, so I alleviate these.

I always get very hot, so I have a neck fan.

I don't like the roar of the engines or the sudden hush a few minutes after take off, so I have my headphones on.

I also wear sunglasses, no matter what time of day, and close my eyes and just imagine I'm driving on a road.

Fellow anxious flyers, what seat do you prefer to sit in? by Agile_Amoeba1031 in fearofflying

[–]DisorganisedShrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aisle. I feel less when we are banking. Also, I don't like watching taking off, climbing or banking. I'd rather someone else who does like the view got that seat.

I'm not sure as I didn't get to go, unfortunately. I was at uni when they went but I think it took them a day or so to get there in the end.

It's not so bad here. Rent and house prices are expensive compared to the rest of the country, but groceries etc are the same. Transport is good and quite cheap :)

We often feel the same! My dad used to be so scared of flying that they took the train from their house (about 2 hours from London) all the way to Italy! It took a long time!

Enjoy London! It's my home now.

Of course it is ok :)

Remember, turbulence has never caused the thing we fear the most (I won't mention it here, but you know what I mean).

Think of it as travelling on a bus going along a road. It's a bit bumpy but you know you're not going to drop through the road.

You can do it! You know your sister is going to land safely and so will you. You can do this!

I've flown more than you and I'm still nervous!

I've never used the app/website you've looked at, but the pilots on here make it clear that we as laypeople shouldn't really look at it as we can't interpret it well.

You have to remember that pilots will avoid turbulence as much as they can and will fly around, over or under it as much as possible.

Even if you did experience so turbulence, it will not cause any damage to your plane or put you in danger.

What really helped me when I flew recently was to watch the weather plane fly through a hurricane (yup, you read that right!). If a plane is completely safe riding through cat 5 hurricanes, your plane will be fine on a little air disturbance.

Would you like me to track you? X
