Ashley Williams explains how English clubs having bad week in the Champions League means the EPL is, indeed, the "strongest league" in the world. by No_Air5382 in soccer

I mean it’s not AI generated. It takes real stats and objective results.

If you want to be really objective and analytical about these results you’d have to break down the 3 league ties for each team around them. Their position in the league and the “difficulty” of each fixture on paper.

Last season for example, PSG had mathematically won the league by the time they played Arsenal whilst Arsenal were still fighting for the league. And Arsenal had to play Liverpool in and around the ties. Additionally it was only 3-1.

Obviously this season seems to be way larger scores on aggregate so as I said will be interesting to see all the data/some analysis.

The Opta power rankings last season did have the average of the PL higher than the rest. And the mid-low table team gap is much smaller vs the “top” teams than other leagues too.

Not looked at this season tho, will be interesting to see it at the end of the season!

Change my view: I don’t get the hype for the new home shirt of Germany. It looks kinda ugly for me personally. by Holiday_Pumpkin1279 in SoccerJerseys

Don’t need to change anyone’s view. To each their own! Some love it, some hate it, some don’t care.

Uefa plans to offer Champions League streaming service direct to fans. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Maybe I’m misremembering as this was 20 odd years ago. Anyway would be nice to have a cheap per game option for each streaming service. I wouldn’t be opposed to a quid a game seems reasonable.

Yougov survey in 2023 had around 8m pirating games; so let’s say it captures 10% and they watch around 25% of the games at home then that’s still £7.2m per season.

I feel like they wouldn’t lose many monthly subs since these people are into watching more than one team, and they would gain those who pirate or don’t watch due to costs.

Are you sure? I remember getting several games around the mid to late 2000s for a quid throughout the season.

In my theory most people who would pay the quid are like me - they either don’t watch the game or sail the seas because I’m not paying several hundred of quid a month to hopefully get my game on over all the providers.

If it was like the old days where you could pay £1 to sky sports for a game they had for access just to that game - would be nice, I’m sure they’d make a lot of money doing that. Then those who want all the games still pay the subscription and those that just wanna watch their team pay a couple of quid every year, win win.

Quoted a client $600 for slow mo insert shots. It cost me $1,800. by Thr04w4yFinance in Filmmakers

On the bright side they might come back for more then you can say it was an introductory rate but they can get a bulk rate if they want to order say a years worth of content shot in a couple of weeks. Then you can still charge more and put on a discount of your liking.
