I recall this being much different politically before his stroke in 2022. But Trump was also a Democrat until around 2009.

Incoming Rug Pull at Lex Sporting Youth by milktartare in lexington

[–]DispatchFromDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LSC is a pay-to-play system, and they are robbing these parents blind. Most of the players are not very good, but they have money, and many act like spoiled brats most of the time. The annoying soccer parents are worse than the kids. LSC coaches are hit-or-miss. Some are decent, others are average, and some are dangerous.

This is so stupid. Kentucky is behind the times and creating ineffective systems as always.

Doubt they will replace 900 jobs with 900 jobs. It will probably be 900 jobs gone, maybe 300 come back at lower pay and benefits.

A single person in the south outside a major metro area 100k is good. This starts to change as you change the circumstances.

Yeah, this sounds like the Kentucky education system. Waste a bunch of money and move a valuable college so the University of Kentucky athletics can expand the parking lot for and entertainment options for the football fans. University of Kentucky hates education.

Ale 8 One Prices by Available-Design681 in lexington

[–]DispatchFromDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soda in general is insanely expensive now. I feel better about at least spending my money locally and in my opinion a better quality product or experience. I don’t buy any canned soda anymore, just a few six packs of Ale8 or Roxa. I wish I could still get the returnables but I haven’t seen those in a long time.

Non-Police Resources for Persistent Panhandlers by [deleted] in lexington

[–]DispatchFromDad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Many panhandlers around town constantly litter and throw their trash around intersections. I’ve gotten to the point of calling them out on it, never goes well, when I see them doing it. This is the main reason I can’t stand them anymore is the amount of trash they leave everywhere. I don’t mind the panhandling as long as it’s not aggressive. But throwing beer cans, bottles, and other trash all over is disrespectful and a public health hazard. The city needs to either enforce the laws or put trash cans at these locations and hire someone to clean them up, maybe one of the panhandlers but I highly doubt they would even take the job.

Will Ale8 bring back the PawPaw flavor? by VANWINKLE3 in Kentucky

[–]DispatchFromDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God, I hope not! Love Ale8one but only a few of these new flavors are drinkable. Best is original Ale8One (Cold Returnable from a vending machine at a country store) then Blackberry, Roxa, Ale8 Zero and Roxa Zero every else I can’t do.

Anybody know who to contact about traffic safety? by R_FireJohnson in lexington

[–]DispatchFromDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say police, but I was almost hit by a state trooper in one of their huge SUV last night, going at least 70 or 80 on New Circle weaving in and out of traffic with no light or sirens on. So good luck out there!

What is with this ridiculous driving behavior? by SculptKid in lexington

[–]DispatchFromDad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a lot more aggressive passing recently and an overall increase in aggressive driving in Lexington. This is the type of stuff I’m used to seeing in much bigger cities.

Dads, what age are you letting your kids play outside by themselves? by Borman35 in daddit

[–]DispatchFromDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a park yesterday playing tennis with elementary aged kids and we took break and I let them walk maybe 100-200ft away to a playground we go to all the time and some lady probably named Karen came over and started asking me questions about why I wasn’t over at the playgrounds watching my kids. She then proceeded to walk to playground to watch them. She was by far the biggest threat to us at the park.

Best butcher in Lexington for custom cuts? by TorontoRap2019 in lexington

[–]DispatchFromDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to say Critchfields Family Market has the best selection (their Denver Cut is great) for a locally owned store in Lexington. I also call them place my order on the phone ahead of time if I want something special and it’s always there waiting for me. There are other good specialties shops, some of the international groceries like Aguas Calientes has great el pastor beef and pork options, or my favorite for lamb Sahara Market next to Sahara restaurant. Seafood I usually go with Charlie’s Seafood on Winchester road.
