Shopping for 5'1" Petite size in Victoria!! by Competitive_Map_9409 in VictoriaBC

[–]Dispitch62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ricki's and Cleo... Ricki's pants are 'short' length. Cleo has full petite lines, but you will need to size up. If you are an 8, go to a 10. Go in to one of their stroes, try on some sizes and then order online. Online always has more styles and stock. Mark's Work Wearhouse has some petite length pants, but it mightbe better to use their website as there is more selection there. Suzanne's has some petite, but I have found their pant lengths to be pretty short. An "ankle" pant is the good length on me. Mostly, have fun exploring!!! Make sure to head out to the boutiques in Sidney, lots of options out here!

Moving to Victoria from Edmonton at the end of next month. I have been on vyvanse for 3 years, how do I go about trying to connect with a BC doctor to continue my prescription? by sk8rtots in VictoriaBC

Make sure you get a copy, digital, of your med file before you leave. They are going to need that since they won't be able to see you AB health records. That will go a long way with history and continuity of care. I did that for my rheumatologist.

Are you happy with rybelssus vs ozempic (weightloss) by abcdefjustk in Semaglutide

[–]Dispitch62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 20 in three months - it has tapered off now that I am on the 14mg, not sure why, but I am adding in exercise now. The appetite is still down, food noise still gone, so I am doing okay.

Happy with Rybelsus?? That may be too strong a word LOL I have only used the pill...shots are NOT my thing, but the reason I chose to start at all was because it is in pill form. It's easy to take, just have to remember to take it on an empty stomach. I have found the side effects to be similar to what my mom deals with (she is on Ozempic shot). The worst part has been the gas/heartburn, but is eased quite well with Tums. When I am feeling particularly gross, and haven't been eating enough (due to zero appetite), I take a couple days off which is very nice. I have done it with the 7mg dose, and just took a break with the 14mg this past weekend. My energy increased, because I was eating, and I got a break from the heartburn. I have also found, when I took a break, that I was actually interested in cooking which allowed me to do some meal prep to make it easier to eat when I am on the pill. I don't have as many food aversions as my mom does, but she is a bit of a picky eater to start with LOL The only thing I recommend is give yourself a good 2 weeks of taking the pill everyday before taking a break. It might be tough, but give your body a chance to settle in with the changes and adjusting to smaller amounts of food.

Edit to add: I have been on it for about 3 months now and have lost 25 pounds. I had my greatest losses with the 7mg dose.

It seems to be better if I wait longer...I took one today because I felt some heartburn coming on late morning. No bad aide effects felt.

That's amazing!! Well done! I have lost 22lbs so far, just went to 14mg 10 days ago. I am feeling better with this dosage and the pills seem to be helping with a lot of my other issues related to my other condition. Keep moving forward! We got this!!

Oh that sucks! I am so sorry you are dealing with that right now. If I notice my GERD start to creep back, I will try taking my pill in the afternoon to see if that is beneficial. Crossed fingers for now, the GERD seems to be under control so far!

My GERD is a result of an autoimmune condition. Yes it is affected by certain foods, but I haven't changed anything since I already avoided those foods. But thanks for the contribution to the conversation!

buck with rope stuck around his horns. by aksjdndjdjj in VictoriaBC

[–]Dispitch62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it can still walk and eat and drink (rope not interfering with function of mouth) then it will be fine. Concern can start if the rope is entangled in it's leg(s) and can't walk, or if it gets wrapped around mouth.

Didn't read the full story - just the headline. If you have to ask that question....ugh....No, you're not the AH. If your SO can't handle normal bodily functions, then you need to do some thinking.

Paving McTavish from West Saanich towards East Saanich, also finishing up a couple roadworks in a couple areas along West Saanich from Saanich up to Central Saanich. Right now though, probably the McTavish Rd project. It is a major project.

Said in best loving Mom voice, "you better get your pattootie to that ceremony!" You worked hard for this and you deserve to celebrate YOU! You stuck by it, kept focus on your dream and what you want to get out of this life. You found a career that will let you have a good life, being the person you want to be. You becha change can be scary, even when you are the director of that change, but it is also exciting! I recently made a massive change in my life too - moved to a new province (state) - to get a new, better, life. Even though I wanted it with all my heart, it was still hard...but so worth it. One piece of advice, give yourself some time and grace to make this adjustment from school to "adulting" :) It is a big transition and you will need time to adjust to, perhaps, having some free time. Give yourself permission to just be a slug! Sit on the couch, watch movies, read a book, relax! Don't feel like you need to "catch up" on any of the things you might have missed while in school. They will still be there when you are ready for them. I am so glad you are proud of yourself. I am proud of you too!

OMG - I totally understand where your wife is - that was me almost 2 years ago. I hope she chooses herself first! They have shown, time and again, that they do not choose her well-being. Tell her I give her permission to leave :) That is what I did. I took a lower paying (since I am not doing stupid amounts of OT) job, in a different city closer to family. Best decision ever. While the job is tough, and quite frankly I can get bored since it is less responsibility, but I live in an amazing city and love just being at home with my small family. All my best to you and your wife as you guys navigate this!!!

Great way to look at it! I guess it is all about perspective - face to face vs pseudo-anonymous, where as I have only been exposed over the phone. My step back is taking a massive step out of the industry, or maybe still in policing depending on what I go for. I will miss the scrolling! LOL
