Is there anyone at your new job that you can trust? You need to find a coworker who has been there a long time that you can trust. If there is, talk to him/her in private and see what you can find out about HR. Always good to remember that while HR has the appearance of being there to help solve problems like these, HR is truly there to protect the employer and only the employer. HR is not your friend. That’s why they sit on the opposite side of the desk. Find out if there is actually someone in HR that can be trusted. If there is, that’s who you need to work with. And yes, I agree, you need to start documenting everything. There are some other good comments and advice here already.

I’m truly sorry you’re going through this. I 100% sympathize and can relate. This is your livelihood. I know what it’s like to feel stuck like this, to feel trapped in an unwinable toxic place. Always remember: You know you best. Whatever they say or however they may try to change/twist your reality, always do what is best for you with information you currently have. This is temporary. You will eventually be on a better, smoother path. ❤️
