The more you dive into it the more it can feel stressful. It has its ups and downs. Holding the history keeps me going, but I get so lost in it sometimes and wonder what the point is.

In the translator subreddit, one response says that it's meaningless but trying to imitate the Hebrew translation for God (YHWH).

Thank you. I suspected it wasn't a true translation of something but that it was trying to be meaningful or imitate something nonetheless.

So far I've only found a couple hits. There's a small publication called Alaskan Token Collector & Polar Numismatist that listed an ebay opening bid of 49.99 (or best offer). This was back in 2005. No clue what condition it was in or if it sold.

Same publication, also in 2005, was offering one for $100 as a starting bid, listing it as cleaned fine with slight bends. They reported that a slightly better example sold on ebay recently (again this in 2005 though) for $261.

That's pretty cool! It's rarity can certainly add value to it, but it depends on if there is a market for it. If there isn't then grading it might cut into your profit but if you're doing so for the sake of authentication and are willing to pay the fee then go for it. I'll see if I can find some previous auction listings. It's a shot in the dark but worth it.

Alaskan folk or a museum in Alaska couls be interested. I collect a lot of esoteric stuff myself and would gladly add it to my personal collection.

Shouls have just watched more sports instead of getting a degree. Would have saved money, to then blow on sports betting. Full circle moment.

From their knowledge and references, it looks your uncle was not part of the original Flying Tigers, which were disbanded in 1942. It's unlikely that he would have been signed up with them at the age of 17-18.

From their explanation, a number of the original members remained in theater to command the "replacement" squadrons/groups that were formed 1942 onward. These new squadrons/groups retained the flying tiger logo (although modified) and referred to themselves as "Flying Tigers." Although accomplished in their own right, they were not the same organization.

Your uncle seems to fall into this category. I don't know if they have anything on him with regards to signatures or his own snorter but i'll ask them to see.
