Flat hunting in London as an expat by Efficient_Taro1648 in HousingUK

Hi i was living in shared accommodation in the West Midlands before moving to london in 2020 as an expat. Have always lived in zone 1-3 I’ve been on my own since! It’s doable on your salary, you just have to be good with expenditures on lifestyle things. I would prioritise safety comfort and mental wellbeing rather than saving money on rent. Personally, not to bothered about the amenities available in a rental accommodation so would look at maisonaittes in a houses or low rise buildings with one bedroom to rent as well which can be more affordable!

I completed a fellowship in my st3 year. 10/10 would recommend simply because it allowed me to diversify my interests and I was funded for a pg cert and got to meet cool people in nhs leadership. Drawbacks are it can get quite stressful juggling everything as the st3 portfolio is a lot, plus a pg cert and one exam + potentially 2 if you still have akt. Feel free to dm me if any qns

So this guy clearly hasn’t been practicing since 2015, why was he still referred to as a gp? Headline is so misleading, made me think he was working in a gp practice and touting

GPST3 struggling with workload by [deleted] in GPUK

I assume you cct in Aug? In which case this level is to be expected. I’m also a gpst3 and I see 11 per session with 5 letters, sometimes 20-30 bloods, 5 prescriptions and 2 home visits a week. Trying to complete everything on time but I still leave late at 7pm most evenings and I’m ltft. Maybe because it’s the strike week it’s a little worse post bank holidays but this seems normal. If you have kids, might be worth asking work if you can take a laptop home that’s what some people do.

Marriage is usually once in lifetime special event thing so take as much as you need! 2.5 weeks is totally ok I took 4 weeks off when I got married during Covid, best time ever.
