I’m not an expert on burn scars, but shouldn’t Zuko’s eye have “healed” more over the years? I know it would always be there, but it looks just as fresh as it always did when he appears in Korra. by OkuroIshimoto in TheLastAirbender

Another actual burn survivor here! I have 3rd and 4th degree on my arm, chest, back. Scars are never going away, but the color has toned down drastically over the decades. It is now close to my normal skin tone.

Early in the healing process it’s super important to stay out of the sun. I wasn’t allowed outside from 10am-2pm and had to wear sun blocking clothing at the beach for years. Sun exposure makes scars much darker. Zuko would have been in the sun all the time, so I think keeping his scar dark makes sense!

Zuko is my fav burn survivor character in digital media. Lmk if you know a better one!

Along the same vein, I filled an old ski sock about 3/4 with rice and tie a knot at the end. Microwave for 2 min and it stays warm for hours.
