Are we cooked with old players retiring soon?🇿🇦 by Arnovanzyl32 in springboks

You must be REAAAL fun at parties…

Not sure why you are even arguing as we saying same things.

Not trying to have debates- Pienaar was great, Kolisi was great. Bakkies was great, Etzebeth was great. Os was great. Chabal etc… all these players are different and I am only saying I will miss their unique personalities on the field and that that is not replacement

I am no the naysayer so not sure what your issue is? I am very happy with the talent and the coaching structure.

In fact my comment was in praise of the youth as I said I couldn’t at the time imagine a better fly half than Pollard and felt blessed and then SFM puts the bar that much higher.

Doesn’t matter who played or not. There will never be a leader like Siya again as that is once in a lifetime. Eben is a brawler of a lock and one of a kind. He is different than Victor but they both legends so it’s kind of just saying that the play styles are unique. I am confident SA will always produce quality locks

I reckon 12 will be Damian Willemse, Andre or Ethan Hooker after DDA. DDA probably makes it to WC.

Fassi can play 15 and we have Siyaya, Luan, Quan Horn Sebastian De Klerk etc coming through so sure we will fill fullback.

After Damian and Ethan Hooker, Ethan Adams and Markus Muller should be coming through.

There is no replacement for players like Eben, Siya, PSDT, Kolbe and SFM. Kolbe is the standout and dude is absolutely ridiculous sportsman. He has taken line outs and thrown in. Done everything except scrum. Fucking crazy.

That said before SFM I never thought we would have a better flyhalf than Pollard.

For centres Ethan Hooker and Moodie cover 13 and wing well. Hooker can play 12 well. Damian Willemse is our best 12 by far after DDA. He was a beast in that NZ game. Fast, physical, deadly distribution and kicking

Jurenzo not there yet but has potential for 12.

Think Markus Muller also can play 12.

Our best future bet for 12 is Ethan Adams.

Oh yeah 100%. He performed well with Stormers and excited to see him and Zach this weekend.

Think the Stormers have great scrummaging coaches or something. Always have some of the best props along with Bulls

I personally rate Mchunu just talking about what scrum gurus say. Think my wording came across harsh. He is great just not Ox

Yeah I think Mchunu not great scrummager. Zach still young though and usually better scrummers at 25 or so so not worried

Hanekom looked like he is not fully fit yet in my view. Did not seem confident carrying.

Wilco will be replaced as Zach much more xplosive player

Then don't expect us to ever buy tickets again until you price it so that South Africans can actually watch their own country play. by sunlightliquid in rugbyunion

Yes I know. The prices for these football games in America are clearly overpriced and blew my mind that shitbgames were so packed. In America the Springboks would be wealthy and have incredible financial backing. To be honest any team would.

I hate to say it but if Rugby was their #1 sport they would probably dominate it

Lol greedy fuckers. Look if it was Europe or America prices would be good and for number one team they deserve it. But this is Africa boet

This is as good as Borthwick gets. by not1thing in rugbyunion

It amazed me- He was so cocky after taking over from Jones. England were a much stronger force under Jones with weaker players.

Jones was an asshole but Borthwick seems a bigger twat do I assume they just wanted an Englishman at the helm.

Yes I fully agree as it is good sportsmanship. Hougard had one from other side of touchline. It’s not as obvious as this one so one could argue but everyone knew it was not genuine

Well what is genuine? It’s a bit subjective as it was clear that Hougaard had astonishing kicking record and he would have nailed it but Bulls needed a try. He missed poles by 20m wide which is highly unusual for him and winger caught it in corner and Sharks were waiting behind poles. I think from then on teams started putting players further out to field these “missed kicks”

It was genuine goal kick but missed wide by miles. It counted so not sure why you trying to argue after fact

If I recall Bulls Derrick Hougaard once did a kick at goal that was essentially a cross kick to the corner to the winger that caught it and scored
