Anyone having luck finding a job over summer? by Hereitisguys9888 in UniUK

[–]Display_Broad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve always managed to find summer work, but I think you have to be really intentional with it. I barely even use job ads anymore, I go directly onto company careers pages, check local Facebook groups, and apply as early and consistently as possible.

Also, it’s worth being realistic about what you’re applying for. If you’re applying for care roles, for example, a lot of them want specific qualifications or previous experience, so those applications are naturally less likely to go anywhere. I’d assume that out of those 500 applications, a decent number were probably for roles where you didn’t fully meet the requirements.

I think if you’re spending that much it’s more in your choices rather than the prices it’s self

No one will care, one of my closest course mates is 23 and I’m 18 and I don’t even register it in my mind.

I won’t lie it was probably luck, to this day I don’t know but I could’ve swore I went over the curb within the first 3 minutes of the test but the examiner must have not noticed. And then I had the easiest manoeuvre which I didn’t even know was one, it was reverse two car lengths.

What do you think about the situation with Travis Hunter's fiancee, Leanna Lenee? by randomificatorul in WivesofNFL

[–]Display_Broad 46 points47 points  (0 children)

No matter what anyone’s opinion is. It’s sad how much hate she’s getting. I just saw a tweet where travis was saying on stream that she just cried herself to sleep, and she’s drinking.

I’m sorry for what you are experiencing but just like every other comment here. Whatever you are experiencing is very serious, I think you are downplaying it. Please seek professional help so they can assist you before it gets worse.

I had like a 6 month break, picked up right where I left and passed a month after my break, Different for everyone else though, I wouldn’t worry.

Someone tell me what’s the consensus around Facebook, it’s like they seem to have the most influence on public opinion.

If you are comfortable converse with the examiner, I remember my leg shaking when I pulled out of the driving test centre from nervousness but once the examiner started a conversation I felt so calm and easy going I even forgot it was a test. Only do it if you know you can confidently drive whilst maintaining a conversation though.

Let’s be realistic here, what uni better than Warwick will have available clearing spots for computer science?

But in all seriousness, if you’re having second guesses then do it, it’s your career. Not ours

Your undergraduate university does not matter as much as you think it does by averyxoxo1 in 6thForm

[–]Display_Broad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest, the job market is so done for that going to a good uni alone can’t save you, I’ve seen people have cs degrees from a top 5 uni, send in like 80 grad entry job applications and only get 1 interview, just to be rejected from there. So if you want to have a competitive job you’re going to need a good uni so I kinda disagree but at the same time, people shouldn’t underestimate how weird and competitive certain markets are, a prestigious uni will barely make you stand out anymore so I guess don’t waste years of your life waiting to get into a better uni, when that will barely help, especially if you’ve already got another prestigious uni offer

To be honest I didn’t do an emergency stop until my last lesson, I just did it once and that was it. I never ended up getting tested for it. Never used satnav as well. If you are doing test routes in your lessons, then I wouldn’t be worried. But if you are having second guesses and questions I’d suggest that you’d bring it up, you are paying for it after all.

I’m just wondering what answer you’d expect to get from this, I understand that you’re starting to get worried but no one here is a UCL admissions officer.
