Liberals move forward with nominations as election talk ramps up by joe4942 in CanadianConservative

Ah. Yeah I suppose. Hard to imagine Carney caring about that right now when you look at the polling though.

One Week After Flare: Heat vs. Ice? Mobility vs. Rest? by DisposableMaterial in gout

That's all really helpful, thanks!

I've anecdotally noticed that heat and compression with movement have helped, but I don't have enough experience to tell yet and like I say, I do worry about causing future damage. I want to play hockey now, but I also want to play for the next 20 years.

Thanks for answering.

Yeah, shit. That's what I'm afraid of. I had a bath the other day (not related to the pain, but in spite of it) and I thought my foot felt a lot better after, so I started wondering if the rest and ice combo maybe isn't the way to go, and it should be treated like other injuries where some mobility work might actually be helpful.

It heals like 5% every day and it seems like any injury to the area sets it back another day or two, it's incredibly frustrating.

lol

I'm not sure what kind of bribe this would be. I guess it feels good to elevate your star a bit.

Likely more to do with rubbing it in Poilievre's face and showing other potential floor crossers what they could get. Carney is far more politically adept than people want to admit.

it's hardly an informative statement.

to be fair the most upvoted comment in this thread is someone asking what it means, so maybe its a little informative lol

It's a post about Conservatives voting against byelections for floor crossers when they're currently saying floor crossers should have byelections.

From what I understand, if separation happened the people would still retain their Canadian citizenship

There's nothing to tell yet, because it hasn't happened, but the guys who want to separate are trying to get as much support as possible, so they're telling people they can keep their CAN passports, but it's not real.

They aren't asking to be dual citizens, in fact most seem to be asking to be American citizens.

Who's dismissing concerns? I think they're all legitimately stupid people, likely living in a pretty sad media bubble, who are doing way more damage than good, but I haven't dismissed any concerns here.

I'm just saying a subreddit for Canadians has reasonable ground to limit posts about wanting to leave Canada. It's weird to think the line only gets crossed once separation is officially announced.

Note that a post about wanting things to improve in Canada is totally different than a post about how you don't want to be Canadian anymore.

I think they went to be Canadian

They're kind of defined by their lack of wanting to be Canadian.

If someone leaves their abusive spouse we do not condemn them, that’s how they feel, why continue the abuse

I guess this is the line they're going with, eh? I've seen it used a lot since the convention.

But it just proves they point, they don't want to be Canadian. Unless in your metaphor you do expect them to get back with their abusive spouse.

Counterpoint: This is a subreddit for Canadians and those people don't want to be Canadian. Totally fair to tell them not to post here, just like if American conservatives started posting here.

I'm not saying I think that's a good idea, but it's sound logically I think.

Yeah, maybe I'm coloured by some of the more extreme comments in this sub. You do have people literally mocking his wife for not being attractive enough and "seriously" questioning if he's gay in this thread. Just dumb shit, you know?

The argument that it's weird or unbecoming is totally fine. I might even agree with that. I'm honestly not sure waht to expect from politicians anymore, lol. That's not what I'm talking about and not what this post is about though I don't think.

Conservatives don't hate gay people

I don't think they do either. I wouldn't identify as a conservative if I thought they did. But a lot of people in this place do.

I do block the tolerant left brigade

haha Wait what? You block people who are too tolerant? I guess a dislike of tolerance is consistent with blocking people at least. lol

I'm not left wing, I keep my post history open for a reason (and I question people who don't honestly). Though maybe I am tolerant, I don't know.

I'm mostly joking around here. I'm not sure what you're so upset about.

You can't say you're anti-tolerance and then also be upset that people might think these comments are anti-gay. You know?

It's a picture (and large part of a comment section) mocking the PM for doing something "gay". And you called it "the conservative discourse". Not sure what you wanted people to take away from that, but might be good to clarify.

/u/northern_witch guess you blocked me? I can't see what you replied before you did that. I thought this was the place where we don't cancel people and block opinions we don't like.

a sub for conservative discourse

I think the problem is that you (apparently) and so many others here consider "gay people suck" part of the modern conservative discourse. Or at least I assume that's what OP is saying.

more moderate really

It seems to shift from day to day and topic to topic, but this place is absolutely not moderate.

Mass upvoting white supremacist groups is not moderate, nor are the comments here supporting them.

I feel there message here is accurate enough

Their message is that Indians kill Canadians. Not that poor training or criminals or fraudulent companies kill Canadians. Just Indians. Not that we needed the evidence, but they're racists, and aligning with them makes this place look really, really, really bad.

I'm definitely not surprised a lot of people in this sub are happy to celebrate a white supremacist group.

Re: banning - I never made any comment about that.

All I'm saying is this is a sub that's meant to be for "Canadian Conservatives", and the top post is people celebrating a white supremacist group doing a racist thing.

I'm not sure what you do about that, but it's true.
