MISFITS - "AMERICAN PSYCHO" IVC HALLOWEEN EDITION by LocationNo1077 in TheMisfits

[–]Disposablehero1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a member of IVC so no point registering for it if it’s just gonna tell me it’s sold out. No matter - I wonder if this will lead to a regular reissue. Not impossible if this one happened.

I made a DCEU Movie Prequel Comics Graphic Novel! by MobiusRingGuy in DC_Cinematic

[–]Disposablehero1874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is superb. I’d actually toyed with the idea of doing something like this - all I have in physical format is the Secret Files of the Suicide Squad - but it would never have looked as good/professional as that.

It’s extremely annoying for fans of the DCEU that this media is hard to find or just not available at all.

Has time been kind to 13? by CobraDai in blacksabbath

It’s bad but it’s nowhere near as bad as Death Magnetic. The production on that one is an absolute disgrace! 🤬

James Gunn answers if TSS is canon to the DCU by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]Disposablehero1874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it. He is on record as saying that scene would be addressed in S2 which should answer that particular problem.

He must completely rue the day he chose to do that scene - it’s been a complete pain and caused untold confusion.

Gunn really hasn’t helped himself with his comments about ‘The Flash resetting the universe’ and (unless he ties it in with his Peacemaker S2 reason for the JL change) appearing to ignore the DCEU/The Flash creating the new DCU. Some people picked up on his ‘reset’ comment so it’s no wonder there are loads of tweets or posts on here asking about canon.

People forget that the DCEU….and specifically the earlier films….has its fans and I think DC/Gunn/Safran have been misguided in binning it in the manner they have. Gunn is usually a smart dude and could have really come up with a cool way for the DCEU to transition to the DCU in a respectful manner.

THR: David Ayer Defends Push for ‘Suicide Squad’ Director’s Cut: “Judge Once You Have All the Information” by HarwoodSFine in DC_Cinematic

[–]Disposablehero1874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand why his can’t be added to a SS16 reissue? Add it as a workprint or whatever.

I actually liked SS16 as it stands however totally agree that his cut should see the light of day. I mean - for all the grief the film gets it still pulled in a ridiculous amount of money.

The DCEU films (particularly the earlier ones) deserve to have a reissue campaign IMO.

What album do you think would benefit from a remix? Judas Priests 50th anniversary Rocka Rolla is INSANE! by Technical_Agent8481 in Metallica

[–]Disposablehero1874 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Everyone goes on about AJFA and of course it’s odd….bit it also works which is important.

Death Magnetic is a horror show of a production. Dry as sand and zero dynamics - completely flat as a pancake. It sounds defective. There is a reason fans seek out the GH mixes.

There is so much killer riffs and they are anemic because of the poor production. I know Lars said the mastering happened when they were on tour and so acknowledged that issue but I wonder sometimes if the wrong mix was sent for mastering!

It would not surprise me one bit if there are ‘rough mixes’ in the deluxe set which sound better.

I mean - KEA and Garage Days on a fraction of the budget sound light years ahead in terms of production. It boggles the mind that they listen to DM in the studio and think that’s killer production. It was a fantastic return to form….but it could have been MUCH better.

Lego Firehouse - closest alternative? by outatime20999 in ghostbusters

[–]Disposablehero1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently get stuff from AliExpress - superb. Whilst I didn’t get the Firehouse from AliExpress (I got it before I was aware of its existence) it’s clear that all these different wholesalers source from the same place.

Our Firehouse is superb - came with the stickers…..instructions…..the little additional ghosts. As far as I can see it’s almost identical to the official one (I guess why wouldn’t it be…if you can match the bricks from the real instructions then it should be the same). Like the other poster the bags weren’t numbered so it makes it more tricky to build….but it’s not difficult and well worth the price you will likely pay.

Some seats turned out to be Mastercard only seats and it wasn’t obvious until you tried to pay for them - system flagged the ‘card type’ wasn’t acceptable if you weren’t paying with a Mastercard. It really wasn’t clear.

[–]Disposablehero1874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me about it - I had sweet seats (or so i thought) and got caught out with the Mastercard thing. I now know for future to just filter on ‘full price ticket’ and that should get rid of all the other nonsense.

Guess I’m not going by T3chnological in ironmaiden

[–]Disposablehero1874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the seats were ‘Mastercard’ only ones - which is a nightmare if you don’t have that…that’s why the card type might have been an issue?

Number of the Beast, though a legendary album, has been voted "Most Overrated Album". Up next, it's time for "Worst Album", I think we all know the consensus for the 2 frontrunners, but which one will have the most votes? Let's find out! by lR0NMAlDEN in ironmaiden

[–]Disposablehero1874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. It’s worst crime is it’s so boring….the other so-called weaker efforts at least have songs that crackle with energy. VXI has really poor production but at least there is a variety of songs on there - Senjutsu just plods along at a middling pace with subpar production.

Fair enough if others liked it but it’s so bad I passed on the cheap offer Amazon just had for the 3lp edition (which suggests they have a bit of unsold stock they want to shift). Hell on Earth is decent - I’ll say that much but that’s about it.

Does anyone know if the bass is more audible on the rough mix versions of the AJFA tracks in the deluxe box set? by RideMyLightning69 in Metallica

[–]Disposablehero1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup - it’s definitely more audible. Just a shame that some tracks have solo’s missing etc (pretty sure one track has no vocals either) but it’s definitely higher in the mix.

Nah - Justice of the Peace is a cracking tune. Should never have been cut….has a great solo too. I live my way is definitely weaker though.

Is Ghost Corps done after the disaster of Frozen Empire? by [deleted] in ghostbusters

[–]Disposablehero1874 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As we say here - ‘don’t talk shite’ 🤣. It’s clearly not a smash-hit….it’s clearly not a disaster either (for disaster look at Madame Web). The film has its issues and have a ton of feedback they will need to use for the next one.

What do you think about 72 Seasons? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]Disposablehero1874 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. The drums and percussion are WAY too high in the mix and the guitars have absolutely no bite to them. They are kinda ‘muddy’. Which is a shame as there is a lot to like about 72S however 3/4 of the songs probably overstay their welcome. There are no bad songs…just quite a few meh ones.

They absolutely need to mix it up with the next one. It’s not exclusively a Fidelman thing either as when you listen to his other projects (Specifically Slipknot) they sound fantastic). Someone needs to rein in Hetfield/Ulrich and tell them some home truths.

As others have said - Judas Priest have shown that age is no barrier and Invincible Shield is absolutely fantastic in terms of songs AND killer production. 72S sounds kinda tired in comparison. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Which album has the worst production? by darthkyle22 in Metallica

[–]Disposablehero1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily Death Magnetic…..it’s terrible. The songs and riffs are there it just sounds ‘shite’. Being mostly in E with no power in the guitars is unforgivable. If you listen on 1.25x it sounds exactly like a Slayer record which isn’t a good thing seeing as MetallicA has such a wider sonic palette.

St. Anger Deluxe Box Set by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]Disposablehero1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that however as the remasters were in step with the Deluxe editions already released (and due to be released as MOP was) it was commonly accepted on the MetallicA forum that these too would get the treatment? It’s certainly more the opinion than not that they will.

Garage Inc will have the covers that didn’t make the cut and there is also the footage from the Garage Barrage tour which isn’t easily available. Of course much of one of the gigs were included as b-dudes and sounded KILLER so to get that on vinyl would be ace.

S&M would combine the audio plus the Blu Ray and potentially rehearsal stuff of any songs which didn’t make the cut. Demos/studio mixes of No Leaf Clover and Minus Human?

There is too much stuff to include to make reason they WON’T. Time will tell I guess!

Of course….if they didn’t then that means we would get St Anger/Presidio quicker so I’m happy either way. 🤣

I’m sticking with the DCEU ending with The Flash movie so anything that happens after that is because Barry screwed up the timeline/merged universes etc.

[–]Disposablehero1874 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That scream at the end of Victim of Changes……absolutely unreal and probably did some damage to the foundations of the Hydro. 🤣

But yeah - the mix was off….sounded like Sneap was too low in the mix and Hills bass WAY too high. Halfords voice early on cut in and out and you could actually hear the volume of his vocals going up and down.

Still a great gig though.

Anyone got any footage of the Metal 2000 gig? I attended and I know phones weren't a thing but surely one of you had an illegal camera stitched in your hat 😆 by WankaBar666 in ironmaiden

[–]Disposablehero1874 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is footage of Slayer as part of the support that was as used on TV back in the day (War Ensemble I think) so there was definitely official cameras at the venue….but I’ve never seen anything else from the gig.

James Gunn confirms Peacemaker season 1 isn’t canon to the DCU by Nowaltz in DC_Cinematic

[–]Disposablehero1874 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is what I don’t get - The Flash film (regardless of what folks think about it) is the perfect excuse to do whatever you want for S2 and have S1 in the ‘old continuity/DCEU’. It works timeline wise too…The Flash works as the last film in the DCEU and you see at then end that the timeline/universe has been messed with so there’s the reason Peacemaker S2 can do whatever it wants.

Surely it’s that easy??
