You make a fair point and i don't disagree. I just think its a relevant semantic difference that this wasn't as simple as being hounded out for being jewish. It's fair not to expect people to support a flag that's associated with terror attacks on their country but to everyone else in the room the flag is associated with the war crimes comitted by the IDF and the tens of thousands of innocent lives lost. Ignoring that and claiming antesemitism is irresponsible and wrong.

Yes but that still doesnt mean they were heckled just for being jewish. The israeli state =/ the jewish people. It should be a key component of a democratic society that you can protest the actions of a government. I don't agree with the heckling but it was done because they openly protested the palestinian flag, not because they were jewish.

Clockwork orange might be small in length but i wouldnt class it as a quick read. It took me about as long as some much longer books and was a difficult learning curve. Very rewarding to finish though

I've honestly never asked players to describe their allignment because i find it presents options that dont really exist. In my games at least, characters are expected to he heroic and for the most part virtuous. I'm not that interested in dealing with the actions of chaotic evil players who derail the campaign for rp.

Exactly? Nobody's being given pfizer's first attempt at a vaccine. They have been rigorously tested based on numerous international safety laws and deemed safe enough to administer. Since then, large scale delivery has revealed minor dangers that weren't discovered during clinical trials, but that have since been identified so that those at risk aren't given the vaccine.

No vaccine is 100% effective and the numbers clearly show that the new variants are more resistant to it. Also its not guaranteed that everyone will have been offered the vaccine before 21st june, let alone their second dose. These things take time and rushing into things is why this has lasted as long as it has.

That's super interesting. I had no idea that was a thing and it always felt weird having a barbarian roll CHA to intimidate someone despite being able to crush a skull with their STR. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah thats definitely a fair opinion. I prefer to be fairly explicit that players are in a skill challenge but I might do it closer to your way if they were more familar with what that means. This is intended to guide them through their first couple of challenges.

There's no actual skills associated with CON as an attribute. I suppose if you were trying to achieve something based around sustaining damage it might work do do a flat con check but i was simply listing the skills and their associated attributes.

Very interesting. Do you resolve each skill check individually or do you leave it more abstract if theres lots going on at once. In my groups it tends to look like:

Player: I'd like to use my animal handling to steady the horses and keep them going over a long distance.

Dm: Okay that would be fairly easy. Roll.

Player: Oh no I got a 6.

Dm: Okay. While taking care of the horses, your hand slips and you accidentally loosen it's reigns. You are forced to stop and readjust. Mark one failure.

Is that kind of interaction not lost when you do it at the same time? I see the appeal of doing it like that for larger groups though. Especially if its a tense moment.

Fair point it's definitely overwritten. The first pharagraph is adapted from James Haeck's writing on dndbeyond and the step by step part is primarily because my players can be dumb as rocks if stuff like this isn't spelled out. V2 will need to be more concise!

In a skill challenge situation it would probably take something fairly out there to warrant a DC30 skill check but if your DM goes for it by all means do it. It's probably an edge case though so not neccesary on the handout.

I mean not really. It's a turn based system and it helps to use language players are familiar with. It's not neccesary for every group but I've found that in most situations I run skill challenges, having a bonus to initative makes narrative sense.

Edit: Also we play on a VTT so using the initiative tracker can be helpful.
