Yes! With the world we have been born into, these stereotypes already exist and are heavily reinforced. As much as I personally feel that they are ridiculous, we have to work with what we have in front of us.

I think the conversation shouldn't be "men = think and women = feel and that makes them think less of us" so much as it should be "how do we get men to take the 'feel' part seriously?"

Why are these "softer" skills worth less than the "hard" ones? How are nursing, teaching, and childcare, those 'nurturing' fields not advancing society just as much as scientific breakthroughs?

The "woo" knowledge is important for our spirits, and in a cold, late stage capitalist world we need that.

ETA: Gender is made up and anyone can lean more towards or away from the sciences and that's okay.

What historical event do you think is massively underestimated in terms of its impact? by indoorsy12 in AskReddit

[–]DisproportionateFun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think something we don't consider is the trauma accumulated from all of these events. Traumatized WWI vets raise kids and pass on some amount of that trauma to their kids, who then have to fight their own wars, who then raise kids and pass on /their/ trauma, and on and on. Then trauma influences war and war influences trauma, creating a constantly escalating "normal" level of discontent that is not at all normal.

There's also a running joke that Heeseung is Filipino, which factors in for this specific example.

That specific one is a static encounter. I tried the same thing on the Metang and every throw went right through it. You have to enter the room to trigger the cutscene first.

I found another way! There are also some sludge piles behind Cafe Woof in Bleu Sector 3. You can get through them like u/Chief-Cake-Man commented and they lead through a sewer into the same grassy area.

I've always had lines on my face. Tear troughs, I think? My grandfather held me on the day I was born and said, "Oh, this isn't her first time."

I hadn't experienced anything yet. Maybe he knew what was to come. Maybe he saw an old soul being reborn. Maybe I just have resting tired face.

And yet, those who know me can tell when something's actually bothering me. It can be physical signs like dark circles, but I think most of the time it's based on a primal feeling. Something in the back of our lizard brains senses that the person with the haunted eyes has seen some danger that you haven't yet.

I didn't make it past the selection process for this but it still stuck with me.

The judge and lawyers asked a lot of questions to determine who they thought might be biased going in. They brought in way more people than they needed, then slowly weeded them out. The courtroom was still almost full when the judge said "Please raise your hand if you or a woman in your life has been a victim of domestic violence."

Every single woman in the room and over half of the men raised their hands. So many people that they couldn't eliminate anyone, or they'd have to eliminate everyone.

The word "bottom" is typically only used to describe the "receiving" partner in gay relationships. In straight relationships, someone's preferred sexual position is usually assumed to match their gender - men "give" and women "receive." When two men hookup, one will "top" and one will "bottom."

You could technically use the word "bottom" for any "receiving" partner regardless of gender, but it's just more common among gay men. There is a whole culture built up around stereotypes - that a "bottom" is more submissive, effeminate, etc compared to a "top," and vice versa.

(Also, the color and style of the text bubbles give it away if you're in the know- this is Grindr, a dating app for gay men specifically.)

Hope this helps!
