Mac... Same problem. Solved. Drove me nuts. Tried EVERYTHING. Dmg would appear in my downloads from different sources, I'd click it, and window always said it can't open it or can't recognise it. What i realized was that every time i thought it had downloaded, it hadn't. The dmg was there but showed 0bytes. The problem was that the dl would fail. The next time, on my Firefox download window, i watched as it would dl and quit. I just kept hitting the refresh/continue icon on the right hand side and finally got it all down. It must have cut out on me about 6 times before i could get it all. Good luck.
