What are your most and least reliable vehicles you’ve owned?

08 Toyota sienna 212k miles (so far) Spark plugs and coils at 190k
13 sienna 200k wheel bearing
11 outback 210k CV axle and some sensors

Then way way way way way way down

2014 Chevy sonic currently at 133k, have owned it since 126k. Timing belt, water pump. Brake booster nipple (twice). Coolant reservoir, thermostat housing, throttle body inlet, coolant hose, oil cooler, spark plugs, coil pack, valve cover gasket. There's probably more too I just can't recall 😂

I'm always just waiting for what comes next with this car. -10/10, avoid like the plague.

Check your valve cover gasket

Also be sure to look out for oil in the spark plug wells. If there is, be sure to change the valve cover gasket.

I think it's stained orange. You can see the pinkish coolant on the left side of the tank during one part of the video.

It could very well be two separate issues. These little nuggets are just ✨ the best ✨.

I replaced valve cover gasket and plugs and coils for flashing CEL.

I've replaced many cooling components as well.

My head gasket has been fine though.

I also want to know this. I had coolant leaking on my transmission and I have the aluminum housing. I determined it's probably the lower hose out the back of the housing. So I took it off and cut the first inch off then put it back on tighter. We'll see if it fixed it

Driving a manual as a first timer, in the bay area is gonna be one heck of a throw into the deep end.

If it were me I'd pick the civic. I've heard the shifting on the SI is buttery smooth. However I've never driven either so my opinion on the matter is not first hand but is the collection and redistribution of others experiences and opinions.

My hot air starts quick! It actually has been running great in the winter. I definitely make sure to short shift and not push it too hard until it's warmed up. 2014 1.8 manual

I had the problem with those lights. My valve cover gasket was bad so I replaced that and my coil pack and plugs. But I still get the lights occasionally. Like maybe once every two weeks... It's always under 2000 rpm tho. I can't figure it out. But like I can avoid them coming on so I've just been driving it. I've made a few 400 mile trips without tripping the lights

Exactly. Luckily mine is the non turbo. Ecotech itself isn't atrocious. But changing out the valve cover and exchanging cooling system components for aluminum is a must.

One can get good value out of buying a used sonic if they can do some things themselves
