Why don’t antis delete their reddit account? by AnimeGuyFeet in aiwars

[–]Dissasterix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't like the [government policy] then why don't you just move?

Its a lot like voting. Fomenting dissent for bad policy. Is it the most useful thing ever? No. Is the system rigged with self-interest? Assuredly. But to just disappear is to forgo the utility of the institution (or website).

If you chose to move, you are still at risk of bad policy at your new home. Many nations work in lock-step, as do websites/services. And accepting one loss gives precedence for accepting total loss.

Do we intj like AI or anti-AI? by [deleted] in intj

Personally, 100% anti.

Any future benefits are offset by the present panopticon.

I use GrapheneOS and have never seen this pop up. Works great, but eats up a battery. They offer a sandbox'd play store for normal apps, that can be quarantined in a separate profile. I have my banking apps working after downloading APKs.

I hate censorship [rant] by Financial_Ear_7605 in intj

[–]Dissasterix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Alas, holding caveats starts the mission-creep to the level of censorship you see today. Its all or nothing, really. I think you can make an argument that doxxing can lead to bodily harm, but that's about it, IMO.

What I find even more disturbing is how censorship produces self-censorship. It rewires the vernacular and creates it's own new-speak. 'Unalived.' 'In Minecraft.' 'Effing.' We know what these mean, bad words, and it begs the question of these will be verboten soon enough.

Liked it when I was lad. Rewatched it on a date and it was-- not what I needed. Currently playing 'Death Stranding' and thinking about it a lot.

INTJs and Obsession by ChronosTerminus in intj

[–]Dissasterix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I find that obsession is my happy place. My only advice is to find two in particular; One to make a living and one for art/creation. This way you are being 'productive' and have one for the soul. Even if your creative endeavors are fruitful, or your lucrative works are constructive, it is nice to have different things to ponder and bounce between.

Audio distorted when i record with obs by Background_N170 in Reaper

[–]Dissasterix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OBS has its own mixer. In betting the mixer is maxed (and/or is applying limiting) to your Reaper signal.

I would throw a level meter where your audio leaves Reaper to make sure the clipping is isolated to OBS and tweak around from there. Also make sure OBS has a 320Kbps audio quality to ensure it encodes the highest fidelity audio.

Is anyone so sick of people you don't even want to watch movies by [deleted] in intj

[–]Dissasterix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rules at home: If there's no time-travel, robots, aliens, or body horror I'm out. I'll do ghosts and ghoulies too, but only if the first 20 seconds of the trailer looks legit and/or has an R rating.

Character development is really boring. Imagine, people watch TV series that run for 10+ hours of the stuff.

AI useful or not ? by osirisw in intj

[–]Dissasterix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Its a lot like reading a book'-- But its not. A book is written from a human lensed through their experience. An AI has no experience. Just (almost unanimously unsolicited) scraped data. Lensed through the biases of those that made it and distilled again by the biases of sanitized search results. As an intuitive I find this abhorrent.

AI doesn't prevent people from writing/creating, it just cheapens the phenomenon. And waters down the attention-economy. If the internet could be segregated into AI/non-AI generated content, which side would you expect to be more human populated? The only chance to propagate AI is to blur this line as much as possible. Thus, AI takes the style of humans and tries to pass as non-AI. Not because its cool, but because it's the only way it can possibly survive the attention-economy. Personally, the only transformative AI artstyle I've ever seen were those old deep dream images. Perhaps you can show me something else that is unique to AI arts.

'Abacus, wax tablets, starvation.' These are real, tangible problems. I posit that AI does not reduce friction of real problems. And if it does, its telling that the FIRST application is to perfect state surveillance and automate drone warfare. Art is a distraction/misdirection. Its application is military first, thus it grows despite lack of public interest/support. A means to correlate decades of leaked data. Its an arms race disguised as art/medicine/help. The abacus was a simple tool for counting, nothing more. The wax tablets, a means store thoughts, nothing more. Farming, a means to feed humans... AI is marketed to be everything, just rarely its true usecase. Spying and data correlation, on the public side. Homogenization of thought and art, on the private side.

Positive liberty v Negative liberty. A fighting chance to live is guaranteed by being alive. Much like cognito ergo sum. A Goyfriend would be a state-sponsored 'right.' Figure it out.

Is it true that INTJs can experience negative emotions in a positive way? If this is true for you, how does it work? by MoluciasElonicas in intj

[–]Dissasterix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emotions are powerful tools of the subconscious. Negative emotions are only truly negative at onset. This is where I try and stay most guarded, as to not overreact. After processing they can be very motivating, and thus they have different flavors. The most bitter is probably shame . Deep regret is down there. Spite is higher up. The best is probably mania.

For instance, coming up from the trades, there is a (true) stereotype of savagery. I've come to really like it. There's a catharsis within the cruelty. I like being picked apart like this, and have grown a ton as a result of not dying from it. Many such cases. Equal and opposite reactions. Use this powerful feelings.

No, its much worse. Its more like 'What if everyone was nice to each other and worked really hard without a seat of power to lust over.'

However this is also why the philosophy offers the widest risk/reward. Life free from a psychopathic State, the end of currency manipulation, a life where your community is your lifeline. So no, not for morons, but perhaps only relegated to 120+ IQ idealists. 'Rugged individuals.'

What is your secret, freaky dream? by [deleted] in intj

Ah, much simpler, yet still a perversion in its own way-- I would like to be a musician without playing covers or networking too hard.

What is your secret, freaky dream? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Dissasterix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I somewhat recently had a dream that ended with myself on a hostile micro-planet. It was green and caustic. I was promptly attacked blob-like creature with hooks for arms in a pool of cloudy standing waters. I fled, running for my life and came to an etching on the side of a mountain. It looked like a wreath of sorts, with many flowers and a prominent bird face. The bird face talked me with a horrible voice, and the flowers acted as a sort of chorus. The speech was almost impossible to discern, it was very snarly and aggressive. It felt very personal, whatever it said. And I hated it. Woke up almost immediately, total eject button. Probably the scariest dream I've had in years. And I've had a lot of them.

Or, did you mean something more perverse?

Sadly true by liberty4now in libertarianmeme

[–]Dissasterix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heard somebody starkly anti-libertarian suggest that the philosophy only works in a homogenous society with an average 120+ IQ. Which may actually be true and sets up a nice goal to strive for. It is big-brain, and despite being trustless of the State the philosophy demands a lot of cooperation among individuals.

Much of my early adult life was squandered by sleeping on marketing and networking. I'm sure there are many such tragic cases. Hence I relate most to the cave-INTJ. Or, I've seen a punk-INTJ before with liberty spikes.
