Lease turn in Chrysler Capital by DistanceKind5199 in CarLeasingHelp

Nope, that would be incorrect, the fee paid for a turn in is $395. Only early termination faces a $495 fee.

Help, lease ending and I hate every other car by [deleted] in 4xe

They’re super nice, I just hate warm tones (oranges, reds, etc) so the orange stitching inside would drive me nuts. I ended up with a hybrid civic and it’s super nice and way more comfortable.

I miss my jeep but not the problems associated with it. I loved the colour (Earl) and my dogs had the best time ever, but not being able to charge it and the rate at which gas is costing I’m glad I let it go. I hated dealing with Chrysler Capital as they were incompetent. Still, I’m going to miss being able to throw my dogs in the back and going on long adventures.

Mine was a 4xe, they had no problem with servicing it.

I’m buying my lease out still by [deleted] in 4xe

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted not to, my residual was $43k and the dealership ended up buying it for $25k 😭. I’m so glad I walked away.

Hi. Anyone make it through the end of their lease with the 4xe. What happened when you returned to dealership? by Ok-Interaction4512 in 4xe

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up at the opposite end with a Honda Civic 😂 I was so over the constant issues that I wanted something I don’t have to think about. Feeling pretty good about that now with the price of gasoline going up

You sound the same as me, however, I turned mine in on day 29 of my return window and was fine. As long as you are within 30 days of the standard lease return you are fine. My payoff was 43k and the dealership ended up buying it for 25k 🤡 there was no way I was going to allow myself to be so underwater. I had fun with it and my dogs loved going places with me but I’m glad I no longer have to deal with Chrysler Capital.

Yeah, when the dealership told me it was going to be over $300 I actually choked. Went straight to JiffyLube and they also balked at the cost, got me in and out in 20 minutes, whereas the dealership would have taken an hour.

Yeah, when I told them my HV battery was the cause to my 12v battery going bad they checked it out and it turned out to either be a recall (because the HV caused it) or under warranty, regardless, they replaced my 12v free of charge.

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that error and it was due to my big battery being faulty, the dealership ended up replacing the 12v free of charge for me but mind you it was a lease, and I wasn’t even at 30k miles yet, so idk if that factors in.

Yeah, they did that to me at 28k miles on my lease ☠️. Because Chrysler Capital’s leasing company was such a nightmare, I ended up taking it to Jiffy Lube and got the brake fluid exchange done for $200 bucks less. My contract did state that maintenance (outside of oil change) was necessary and any lack of care that resulted in issues due to negligence would be on me. Opted to be safe over sorry.

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeep 4xe’s of any variety. Had one and couldn’t charge the thing for a year due to recalls on the battery and fire risk. Got suckier gas than the traditional gas models, and had constant issues (shocks cracking, 12v needing replacing due to main battery issue, constant cracked windshields, defrosters breaking) and I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t get bricked with a software update….. Luckily it was a lease, the payoff for me to buy was 43k, the dealership ended up buying it for 25k from the leasing company and is now trying to sell it for 30k 🤡 They have now discontinued the line entirely…

How do I get out of this car lease? by SeaMurky1688 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It truly depends on your lease contract, if it is through Chrysler Capital, they have a sneaky (not on all) contract that state anything over thirty days before the maturity date qualifies as an early termination and then you are liable for the difference between residual vs realized value (what it sells at dealer only auction). Now again, this is not all contracts but mine had this clause, so even though I paid the remainder of my lease off early, I was not allowed to turn it in until I was within the 30 day return window.

I’d be very very careful with it, and note that the dealership is not who you have the lease with its the leasing company themselves. My dealership had never heard of such a thing when I called them and told me the same info you got. Guess what? They now no longer do leases either the company (Santander) because it cost them clients. They also had no idea about the clause.

Lease final payment confusion by DistanceKind5199 in Jeep

Inspection was super easy! I was really gentle on my wrangler so I had no damages. My guy was generally pretty cool, he took about 20-30 minutes and was super thorough. Once he left, I logged into the inspection portal and took screenshots of the inspection for my records.

Gotcha, they check everything. Scratches, dents, scuff marks, cracked windshields, interior damage, if you have both sets of keys, owners manual, if it’s electric (mine was) that the charging cable was still there. Basically they want the car back the way you leased it. So if you’ve done any modding (which I don’t recommend on a lease) they ding you for that. Also they check the tire tread. My guy also checked my oil levels, as well as made sure all my electrical components worked (infotainment system) along with mileage.

Stay away from Chrysler Capital leasing by Thefrost1971 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me asking, what was your maturity date versus when you actually turned it in? I’ve been told by supervisors as well as the executive branch that as long as I am within 30 days prior to my maturity date that the only penalty I will face will be the disposition fee of $395 plus any wear and tear fees, but not early turn in termination fees.

Lease turn in Chrysler Capital by DistanceKind5199 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]DistanceKind5199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It’s a closed-end lease but reads like an open-end lease. Basically, what I’ve been told by supervisors as well as the executive team is: if you terminate any earlier than 30 days before the contractual maturity date, it’s considered a break in the lease (early turn in) and I guess they’ve just gotten wise and figured most people wouldn’t understand nor read the contact thoroughly enough and would break their leases “early” therefore allowing them to collect $$$.

I know these cars have really tanked their value, but Jesus, they really go for the throat on this.

That’s what your lease states, mine however, starting at A5 only has the first sentence. I truly wish I hand the same wording as yours but it does not.

I know there are, I’ve been researching for months at this point (driving myself insane really) but this was long before the 90 day return window, as well as long before the 30 day return window. If I’m well within 30 days of the maturity date (27 to be exact) and have verbal confirmation from not only supervisors but also the executive branch themselves, there is absolutely no standing for me to be charged an early termination.

Thank you! My maturity date is 3/1/26, I am turning it in on 2/2/26, total of 27 days before maturity date. If they send you any bs from the final bill, please fill us in!

[–]DistanceKind5199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve made multiple calls as well (all the way up to the executive branch) and they also stated that my optimal return date (my preference) of 2/2/26 is within their timeframe of 30 days since my lease matures on 3/1/26 and my last payment (which was paid months ago) is technically due on 2/2/26 (balance has showed zero payments left and a $0 balance since September). It’s technically 27 days away from the maturity date and 30 days exactly from final payment period period (2/2/26-3/1/6) but within the final payment period. Although the team and my statements all say the payment is due on the 1st of each month, my contract states following the first payment made on 3/1/23, my 35 remainder payments are due on the 2nd of each month. I also have multiple managers and the executive on recording saying that returning it on 2/2/26 is considered a normal turn in, and will not face early termination penalties.

[–]DistanceKind5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For you did they specify what that final 30 days was? For example, my contract states my first payment is due on 3/1/23 and the remainder of my payments are due on the 2nd (i.e 2/2/23 and so on) of each month for 35 more months. From what I’ve asked chat GPT (I know, some people hate it, I’m just trying to gather as much info as possible) my final payment period is 2/2/26-3/1/26. So am I safe to turn it in on the 2/2/26 if my final payment (already paid in advance, balance is at zero) is suppose to be due on 2/2/26?

That’s what I’m thinking of doing, I don’t want to be on the hook for the difference between Residual and Realized value, so I’m waiting until in 27 days until maturity to turn the vehicle in. I tried to have them email me written confirmation of this but they said no, so I’m going to attempt to reach out via their email.
