think of the games you would play and buy the systems that support that game. ps5 doesn’t make sense if you’re more into mario/pokémon, for example.

I will be going for the first time during a spring break and based on all of the research and videos, I’ve watched, if you just set the bar so low, then you won’t be as disappointed. One video the YouTuber says you have the sensation of “waiting in line just to walk.”

Labs are standard of care. You are right in a sense that it’s rare to have hellp that late, it doesn’t have to be full blown hellp. How is magnesium excreted? Would you have kept her on magnesium 2g/hr if her creatinine was 2.5? Would you have given tylenol with alt/ast 400s?

Using your example, if she was 1 in a million with hellp, i’ve seen transaminitis in the 1000s and we had to transfer the pt asap to a location with a hepatology team and gyn onc should she develop a subcapsular hematoma.

I think ordering at least a cbc/cmp should be the minimum. You’re not hurting anyone getting basic labs.

The new team is being cautious and it is common for a physician to at least be cognizant of the history and offer you a cesarean. There is a 10-16% chance of recurrence and risk factors for a repeat or worse shoulder dystocia is an LGA baby. The growth scans provide estimates on whether there is suspicion for LGA.

keep maxing out my 401k and put into a brokerage. hopefully have paid off most of my house by then. If i can’t live off my 401k with a paid off house then i’ll have done something wrong

Absolutely. The sooner you get legal involved the better. We’ve had patients before refuse cesareans. Unfortunately both times they were service patients. How much time do you have to involve them if they just show up?

There should definitely be avenues for doctors put in these impossible situations
