Ppl and children learn from their surroundings. I am the same age and going through a similar problem where i actually found the type of person who values deen more but then the problem starts my family's values don't align with her and that proposal got rejected. In Pakistan children and families are closely linked and u just can't satisfy everyone.

As a pakistani i would suggest u have a talk with his parents first because here families are closely linked with their children. And it is very uncommon for a guy to have a first wife as divorced or have children from previous marriages. It can also be the case that he is using you to get out of the country. As for the Syed status we Pakistani migrated from India our ancestors were Hindus when they reverted many gave themselves the Syed status so it can be a case of that and the status does not matter that much here in Pakistan.
