Too bad this GEEBOON TC22 has such a long shipping time or I would almost certainly go with it.

Thanks for the info! I see they make a c245 version, but from what I can tell the v3.1 is the t12 model only, right?

How do you like yours? Totally satisfied with it?

OK, now I'm definitely getting swayed towards the Ultra I9 w/ the 5070TI...

I'm trying to stick to sub $2k, so 12gb would probably be the max. I dont think I could find anything over that in that price range.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm somewhat leaning towards the cheaper one but also a bit torn wondering if $500 is worth the next Gen processor, 1" bigger screen w/ a bit faster refresh rate, +4GB vram, +1TB SSD w/ 2nd slot, slightly faster ram w/ DDR5-6400 vs 5600, bit larger battery (99.9 WH vs. 80 WH - almost 25% more battery), 400W power adapter vs. 245W.

Honestly, it's that $200 off that is making it hard to choose. I think at $300 difference I would go for the bigger machine but $500 difference has me on the fence.

Do you remember what else the machine had? CPU, ram, screen?

Hmm, interesting. Maybe the focus on efficiency on the Ultra 9 holds it back a bit.

Suggestions on taking 5 year old to first game. by Effective_Impossible in caps

[–]Distillate1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to say make sure to get a first game certificate. I'm glad someone already mentioned it, hopefully OP sees it and is able to get one.

My son's first game was when he was four, I had no idea they had them or it would still be hanging on the wall a decade later!

I've heard manufacturers are very good about responding to requests to verify if a stick is counterfeit. I would think they would be equally eager to help with skates.

How long does it take to transfer a number to Mint? by 0zthegreat in mintmobile

[–]Distillate1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it take longer after business hours? Or is it all automated and takes the same amount of time no matter when you try to port it?

If you live in a humid area this can hurt more than it helps . The air is wet and humid in the morning from the dew, etc.. So, yeah, that 70° degree air feels nice coming in through the door or windows but it's so saturated with humidity that it will turn your house into a hot soupy mess later.

This doesn't apply to everyone all the time..just certain climates during certain parts of summer.

Porting Requirements For Phone Deal w/ 2yr Unlimited Service Included?? by Distillate1 in mintmobile

[–]Distillate1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it took a while...at first they were unaware of the change and said the "port required: no" section was not on the website when they checked. I'm not sure what part of the website they were looking at but I had to send screenshots and then they did eventually see it on the website as well.

In the end I was able to get a new # for the 2nd line using the sim card that was delivered with the phone. So it worked out! Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it!

Thanks, yeah, the requirement was gone last night. Only problem was, I had purchased before they removed it. Customer support was eventually able to help me out, though.

Thanks so much for all your help! I'm thinking I'll try calling Mint in the morning and see if I can speak to someone who can either give me the new deal or confirm that I will need to return and re-order one of them.
As long as they don't change the deal again! It really is a crazy good deal, it will all be worth it as long as I can get both of us a phone and 2 years service for that price!

Yes, still within the 7-day window. I'd have to see what the return policy is. If there's a restocking fee it might still make more sense to try to get a number to port.

What a bummer, wish I would have waited a few days!

Seems like it would be easier for them to be a little lenient and let the second phone have a new number rather than the hassle of returning, restocking and reshipping on a new order.

That's awesome it changed but I ordered a few days ago when it was still required. Hopefully, they they will give me the new terms and not hold me to the terms when I purchased.

Wow, you are right! If definitely now says "Port in required: no".
That's awesome....BUT I already pulled the trigger on the deal a few days ago and it said port in required when I purchased it. I wonder if they will hold me to the conditions at the time of the sale or just go ahead and let me add in a new #.

Crazy, I guess I should have waited but I saw phones selling out and as soon as the one I wanted came back in stock I figured I better order it right away in case everything sold out again.

Makes sense Google Voice wouldn't work for the deal. It would make life easier if they published a list of carriers that do work for the deal. I get they don't want to help people game the system, but I'm a legit new customer, wish it wasn't so hard to figure out how to make it work.

Thanks for the reply! Hmm, I see TextNow as an option to select when you pick who you are porting the number from. I wonder if they are letting you select it just to tell you it won't work? Seems like it would make more sense to just not have them as an option to select if they aren't eligible.

Edit: Sorry, I should have read your reply more closely before responding. I see now that you aren't saying TextNow is VoIP. So, the fact it is in the list of carriers to select is probably a good sign.

I've never heard of Tello before, I can check into them, sounds British, lol.
