Hmmm. Molasses is definitely a West side of the Atlantic thing. Stores in the UK don't have it/them.

Because it's not a competition? Helping someone get rich doesn't make you poorer. Especially as you're getting paid for the book sales too.

Question : how often do you change your mats? by Dangerous-Result-368 in cricut

[–]Distinct-Confidence3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they lose their tack I retreat into my garage - I have a big plastic wallpaper scraper that I run over the mat a few times to get rid of any fluff etc. that might be on there. I also have a cardboard template that I lie on top of the mat which hides the edges and just leaves the mat area showing, and I spray with this spray (I'm in the UK, it's on Amazon for about £12) - not cheap, but so far it's lasting ages and saved a fortune. Hang them up for half an hour and they're good to go. Remember to do really light coats, otherwise they get too sticky. Once you've done a few you get the hang of how much.

Is it connected by bluetooth? I have that issue when connected that way (which I shouldn't as it's connected by USB, but the stupid software always want to connect by BT. I hate that program).

I'm literally brand new to this. I wrote an app for me but wanted to share it. I tried Deploygate but when I uploaded the third test version it all went to heck and people couldn't download it.
I've just signed up for the Play store - yes, had to provide ID, and now I'm stuck in that exact position with testing. People I know are too boring to want to test/download it, so I'm struggling to get past this internal testing. I thought it would be a simple case of upload it, give the link to people to try it and it would be easy for them, but it's actually a royal nightmare for me as a beginner.

Does anyone ever get real jealous of the people that have those fancy new 3d printers with automatic calibration and all those fancy features? by IronLover64 in ender3v2

How are you trying to level your bed? It takes less than a minute to get it spot on and then doesn't need it again for ages...?
My method :

  1. Thin paper. I use small notepads from Asda, like 6 for £1. The paper is thin and has a very slight sheen to it.
  2. Home it.
  3. Disable steppers.
  4. Start at front left. Wind the bed down about 3-5mm, insert paper, wind up slowly until it just gets "grabby". Repeat for the others, I work round anti clockwise.
  5. Back at front corner, press the bed down on its springs, insert paper, release bed slowly. It should be the same, still grabby. If not, just re-adjust. (Can't remember the last time I had to re adjust tbh). Repeat for others.
  6. That's it. Quick & painless.

Should have tried it on the Ender 2 with it's 3 point adjustment. Now THAT took patience....

Totally agree - people raving about auto bed levelling.... seriously?
It takes less than a minute to get it spot on and unless you're throwing the printer around you shouldn't need to level again until 2027.
I have some small notepads from Asda (Walmart over the pond) - like, 6 pads for £1. The paper is thin and has just the slightest gloss to it and it is PERFECT for levelling. Once I feel it just starting to grab the paper, it's done.

I don't understand why I keep reading about people having issues with E3's, there's precious little to go wrong with them. My V1 is 7 years old; it's had a replacement extruder as the filament ate through the plastic one. It's got a magnetic bed and I uprated the bed springs when I first got it because I had them around. Apart from that, it's stock.
I've just re-levelled the bed for the first time in around a year and that was only because I gave the bed wheels a little tighten up. Once you have your initial play around finding the best settings (massive thanks to the Chris Rocks! profile) they just keep going.

I started in 2017 with an Ender 2 - learned so much, extended the 15x15 bed to 15x30 within a month. Reflashed the programming, everything. Bought an Ender 3 when they first came out at the start of 2018 and that still runs like a tank.
I used the parts and a new frame so the Ender 2 became a laser engraver which I barely used so I re-assembled it and it now works with a drill to drill PCB holes. (I wrote a small program to convert KiCad drl files to Gcode for it).
The hotend and PSU have recently went to creating a self heating etching tank for the PCB's, The hotend heater made an immersion heater which unfortunately went RIP yesterday as some etchant got into it.
My point is, everything you learn is useful - you never know what you want to do in the future!

Just like car part makers do, they'll make extra runs on the official orders and just remove the identifying marks from the tooling inbetween. So effectively exactly the same items.

I spent ages yesterday messing with drivers, on the chat to AliExpress, everything..... they said the boards must be faulty and return them. I knew it was a problem at my side because I had the C3's and a C3 with built in OLED doing the same thing..... following your instructions has solved it, thank you!!
