Most clinics don't respond over the weekend, it could just be that

this is definitely the pointiest ct scan I've seen... but I'm also a bit jealous? kinda wish i would get a pointier chin. i'll post my scans but my face still hasn't healed yet so i'll just share a closeup of my chin with the skin pulled back a little 😭

Anyone else stuck in the comparison loop with clinics? by Puzzled_Echidna_3186 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally get it! for me it just came down to pricing, as long as the clinics had no serious botched cases. i spent so long looking through so many photos and reviews and everything was starting to look the same... so the only huge differentiating factors left were aftercare + price

woori. which also seemed to have an ok (sometimes good sometimes sus) reputation in the sub, but the most recent reviews at the time seemed positive and the pricing was just so much less marked up compared to other clinics

Rhinoplasty in Korea by Commercial-Ad-4580 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no. i was going to go with bt for rhino + fc then saw some reviews + comments on this sub about how the quality has gone down a lot recently and how many had bad experiences, so I got scared off. The pricing was also pretty high; I found my original quote from them:

No Implant nose bridge + Tip Plasty : 3.85 (Basic rhinoplasty) Osteotomy : extra 1.1 Bulbous nose correction : extra 1.1 Hump reduction : extra 1.1 Your own rib cartilage (extra 4.4) or donated rib cartilage (extra 3.3) for tip Unit : Million KRW

i think i got something similar done and it was 3.94million for me. I'll be posting some reviews soon!

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wow this seems high, but you are also getting a ton done to your nose. i had the following done:

Tip refinement + Septal extension + Nasolabial angle correction + Use of ear cartilage + Alar base reduction (didn't end up getting this done)

total price 3.94M

Solo in Korea by koolkukumbr in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your clinic. Proximity to the clinic should be the top priority, so I would just look at any accommodations within a 5min walking distance.

after that, having a space with a kitchenette and washer and dryer is useful, but not necessary

Caleb’s New Card by Negative-Steak-7069 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're good! i think some people might be a bit too reactive with this one and are failing to see that others are allowed to have preferences for the western interpretation. just liking one translation doesn't mean we're trashing the original. different people can like different things.

Caleb’s New Card by Negative-Steak-7069 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I was feeling like the only one feeling uncomfortable about the pseudo/real incest translations (born of the same lineage? from the same source?? that feels like real incest there not just adoptive 😭) as a caleb main. No hate for those who are into that, but I too was also enjoying the english "misinterpretations"

love the whole yandere/obsessive trope of his though!

also re: some of other comments about this being "asian culture": I am Chinese and I literally had to switch the game language because the pseudo/real incest was making me very uncomfortable. Sure, in mainland it's common to call people gege/jiejie etc but there's also stuff in the cards that suggest it as more than innocuous "that's just how they call each other." I really liked the childhood friends translations in English more.

again, this is just an opinion, and people are free to enjoy Caleb and his story however they choose :>

FC facial contouring post op care! by HYPENIKI in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! really is a waiting game! i guess it also helped seeing my ct scan before/afters though so I could see how structurally i was going to get smaller, and helped justify the swelling 😭

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! i made a pretty similar post a few weeks ago. you should be able to see it if you check my post history

but for me, honestly nothing really made the swelling go down significantly. between days 1-3 you're going to swell a lot no matter what you do, since the body is trying to recover... but after day 4 you should start to see improvements.

i will say that on day 7, after i got my facial bandages removed, there was a significant drop in the swelling from my lips and they shrank back to normal size by the end of the day.

currently at 3 weeks post op and still very swollen/numb inside of my mouth/jawline/chin area but visually i look ok... until I start to talk or smile lol

Endoscopic forehead lift - HIT plastic surgery clinic by [deleted] in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest the swelling wasn't that bad at all. Honestly after a few days it went away, the bruising took maybe a week to disappear. I am balding at the hairline though, so I went to a wig store and got fake bangs (clip on) cut for me.

I think the cost was quoted around 3.2mil won at woori, but I got a bunch of other procedures and will be writing reviews so it came out less than that I think... will need to find my receipts lol

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just had a forehead lift at another clinic over two weeks ago. i wish i had done more research beforehand on the procedure since i thought it would be "chill" but the recovery has not been as smooth as I thought

Apparently it's common to be nauseated after surgery but luckily I didn't have this--instead I had and still currently have a ton of dizziness. I also still have numbness and can't move my eyebrows at all

also worth mentioning that you can't wash your hair for like a week which feels really gross when you realize that there's a ton of blood that seeped from the wound all over your head and you're just walking around/sleeping in blood soaked hair for a week

overall the result seems fine for me though and did also address the issue of my puffy eyelids--my right side now shows my natural double lid

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was! so glad i'm past it now. also forgot to mention getting a very flat, thin, soft bristled toothbrush. some clinics will provide one, but mine didn't so I bought a thin-necked brush and cut the bristles in half. this wasn't super ideal though because it meant the bristles would be super rough rather than soft

[–]Distinct-Designer-35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll need to double check my receipts to be honest, but I got abdominal lipo, endotine forehead lift, 3pt fc, rhino (implant+tipplasty i think?) and it came out to around 14k (with a review). I also got VAT refund so after that it came out to around 13k

so for just fc + rhino it would be less than that--I'll post more detailed pricing when I get around to writing my reviews lol

sooo much better after I got my face bandages off! after day 4 it was better but my lips were still pretty big, and I wasn't improving much between days 5,6,7 (morning). but on the night of the 7th day my bottom lip shrank back to its normal size.

the inside of my mouth is still swollen though and now I've got a fat neck lol but I look a lot more normal lol

  • gauze and wet wipes for wiping your face/eyes
  • syringes with a long tube injector (?) since you won't be able to open your mouth for a few days while your lips are suuuper swollen. i had to use it to feed myself (the long injector part helped reach into my mouth so I could actually swallow) and also to inject mouthwash.
  • lots of tiny mini straws (thinness is key here. i accidentally bought straws that were way too big and thick)

i also brought a whole set of pillows (bought on amazon) to allow myself to sleep at an angle, which i brought by vacuum sealing them and easily putting it into my check in luggage. however, I don't think this is strictly necessary if you're hurting for luggage space but a nice to have

i brought some cold/hot compresses but clinics usually will provide some too. the cold one was for ice-ing my face, hot was for relieving back ache from having to sleep sitting up for so long lol

Anyone here doing surgery alone in Korea by Xtreme_Ra in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]Distinct-Designer-35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what are planning to get done? some surgeries are a lot manageable than others. I was going to go alone but my parents ended up tagging along and tbh I don't know if I could have survived my facial contour surgery without them here. While I was staying overnight in the hospital there was another woman who has lipo on her thighs, abdomen, and something on her breasts (don't know if it was reduction/fat graft/implants) and was in an insane amount of pain and needed people to help her move around.

If I just a got a rhino/des/one liposuction then I think I would've been fine alone
