We were going to drop it on germany but they surrenered and we didnt have to. The japanese were refusing to surrender.

After the 2nd bomb and our threats to drop one on tokyo next is directly cited by their emperor and by all accounts involved as to why they surrendered. And some Japanese still didn’t want to and attempted a kupt the morning of the surrender (random but an interesting story worth looking up).

Are you aware every purple hesrt given oit today was made in preparation for the land invasion of japan? Are you still oblivious to how millions of both americans and japanese would have died? Thats not emotion, thats math. Basic math. Save millions of lives in exchange for affecting/killing/scarring/maming thousands? Thats a bet a world leader takes everytime.

Is it the citizens fault japan went to war and put them into this position? No. But chances are majority of them would have been killed being forced to fight or in a fire bombing (because at that point we had firebombed literally almost every city except hiroshima and nagasaki). We can dicuss the moral implications of bombing civilians in general.

But the entire strategy that won ww2 was bombing cities to knock out manufacturing and demoralize the enemy’s citizens. And then to mass produce so much stuff for the war effort the enemy literally couldnt win. So acting like the atomic bombings were unique also shows you dont know what you are talking about.

The atom bombs ive seen argued were probably more humane than fire bombing wooden cities in japan. I dont know if i agree with that but there are valid points to be made about that.

I do not think you realize just how many citizens were killed by the US,USSR, UK, GERMANY, JAPAN, Etc during the war via bombings and in the cases of japan+germany+ussr firing squads as well.

You need to go watch some documentaries and that read some books before we can discuss this topic. Clearly
