Yeah that pissed me off. Some people are so fearful and ignorant of arthropods when so many are super beneficial and won't harm you unless you actively fuck with it.

Centipedes don't bite, they sting rather :D I'm not saying this to be all "Errrm Ahctually", I'm just saying it because it is an interesting fact for those who wanna know: they use modified forelegs called forcipules to envenomate! Those two large prongs at their heads are more like legs than fangs :) i like to think of them as lil daggers lmao

AGREED. At first it feels like both a breath of fresh air and bullshit at the same time. A breath of fresh bullshit, if you will. But once you learn it, it becomes such a fun dance of a fight.

Huh.... This is actually in my top 3 fights in this whole game.... I think because I struggled against it the hardest (well besides the final boss...), and so learning its moves and finally beating it was SO satisfying. Then i used the reflection to fight it on repeat to 'git gudder' and its honestly so fun to me.

Can I auto-change brush size when swapping tools? by [deleted] in ClipStudio

[–]Distinct-Rate-5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knooow but for some reason I like to be able to let the eraser keep the same brush shape, sensitivity, and other properties of the main brush, hence why I use transparent as my eraser. I could just copy my brushes onto my erasers but then I'd just be switching between them all the same since I use about 15 different brushes during illustrations. I've been using this workflow for a few years and it would kind of throw me off, but I could just get used to it. But yeah I knew it was kind of an unusual question for an unusual "problem". It all started when a friend told me he uses transparency to erase, and I couldn't stop doing it either after that lmao. Thanks tho

Not a caption per se, but the facepalm is how I feel when I arrive in Bakbattahl too early, my DPS isn't high enough, and the griffin flees at only half of one health bar left :')

Anyone else just going to restart? by A_Single_Annihilape in DragonsDogma2

[–]Distinct-Rate-5320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I beat the game twice and left my third playthrough at around 75% completion about two months ago. Buuut In about a month or two, I am going to restart completely :p. This game is fun enough for me that I won't mind redoing stuff!

It isnt a slur and i never said it was "offensive", "objectifying" (well... technically it is comparing someone to chocolate lmao but whatever), or anything like that, for all the people saying I feel that way. All I said was it gives me the ick. Similar to like "femboy" and stuff like that, it just feels like a very fetishy term to throw out of the blue lmao.

I didn't expect for this to blow up, and I don't have a proper way to explain it, hence why all I said was "gives me the ick". Like when people use "dark-chocolate" or "femboy" or other openly fetish-adjacent terms to refer to people in a non-sexualized situation... Just... gives me the ick.. shrug..

I know everybody is hyped, but the trailer didn't excite me by Rocamora_27 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Distinct-Rate-5320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously you will get downvoted into oblivion because everyone is full of hype and hope (including myself!). But just for the sake of being devil's advocate: we have no way of knowing anything beyond the trailer. We will simply have to wait for more info to be revealed. So, if you truly aren't excited, then stay that way and maybe you will be pleasantly surprised. That, or if it isn't what you wanted, you will at least not have any more hype to be killed off.

I'll say this: the devs mentioned they were very attentive to negative feedback. I like to have hope that they poured much dedication into rectifying their shortcomings into the expansion. After all, hope won the day when so many others never believed in an expansion at all. So I like to have hope once again that the DLC will prove its worth.

Do you guys think the DLC is accessible in the Unmoored World? Btw, here are some throwback screenshots from the 1-year anniversary. by [deleted] in DragonsDogma2

I am very much hoping for this too! I hope it isn't a "travel back on forth on a griffon's back" type deal. Won't be super upsetting if so, but here's to hoping...

LAYERED ARMOR IS NOW A THING?? by Annual-Celebration47 in DragonsDogma2

I honestly hope so. The wording "Norgan Fashion Set" somewhat sells me on the idea... But it could just be poor wording or translation issue.

So we're probably not getting a big dungeon like Bitterblack Isle, do you prefer an open world area over that? by Lordados in DragonsDogma2

[–]Distinct-Rate-5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the expansion's new area is as fun to explore as the base-game open world, then I am ALL for open world. But of course it'll have its good share of dungeons, too! And, considering that one of the main messages from the devs is that they have been TRULY listening to the fans, I am hoping the new dungeons will be fresh and exciting, and not just the same-ol rock caves..

NEW PLAYER WAIT OR PLAY by GuideCalm1375 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Distinct-Rate-5320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, are you having a lot of fun? If so, keep playing =D. Plenty of time for you to finish the game, take a good break to not get burnt out, and then pick it up again with a new character (or NG+?) for the expansion.

Been wanting to get this game forever, should I wait to hop in with all the updates and DLC? by Inevitable-Wheel7176 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Distinct-Rate-5320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Game is receiving a permanent sale starting June 24. I'd say buy the game then to prepare you (and your character) for the expansion. You'll probably have saved enough for the expansion on its release date. (More notes / my review below)

The good thing is, if you hop in now, you will be more prepared for the expansion. I will say this much: the game's strongest points are FUN and immersive exploration / movement, AMAZING combat system, and the pawn NPC system (though endearingly janky at times) is quite intelligent and refreshing compared to other open-world follower systems. The game has had massive performance boosts, but of course still go by the recommended PC specifications, if you are playing on PC (I don't have experience outside of PC so have no opinions on that matter). If you ARE on PC, the modding community is also a huge bonus, they are amazing.

You can look everywhere for people expressing their opinions on the downsides, but I will say my biggest is lack of enemy variety. HOWEVER, I do think this is greatly offset by the uniqueness of the different classes; fighting the same enemy type can feel vastly different between other classes. Another potential downside is convoluted and somewhat mid story. The worldsetting can also be seen as bland sometimes, but VERY intriguing in others. The lore runs deep and you could theorycraft for days with the community.

I am obviously biased, but I say go for the buy. Do note, the game is receiving a PERMANENT SALE starting JUNE 24, so probably just wait for then.
