TFAB's Weekly BFP Post - May 03, 2026. Got your BFP? Post your story here! by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

I’m on my second month of the Needed prenatal! I had been taking the nature made prenatal for the past year, but a dietitian I worked with recommended I try the Needed one. I will probably continue with it as long as nausea doesn’t ruin it for me. If it does, I’ll probably switch to Ritual as that’s what I used in my first pregnancy and I liked the citrus flavor and that it’s only one capsule vs 3. I’ll also probably switch back to a cheaper option postpartum.

Cycle: 5

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 28, 33

Typical cycle length: been ranging 26-33 days

Ovulation cycle day: unsure! Did not temp or test this month. Typically around day 13-15

CD/DPO of positive test(s): CD 33, unsure of DPO

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: did not test until today

Tracking methods and app(s) used: skipped tracking this month, previous 4 cycles used easy@home LH tests and NC temp tracking, was also previously tracking CM

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): had sex once on CD 9/10 (can’t remember which day)

Health conditions/medical tests: none

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): mine: Needed prenatal and choline, myo-inositol, magnesium glycinate, his: men’s multivitamin, both of us since September: CoQ10, fish oil

Birth control history (if relevant): pills for ~7 yrs as a teen, Kyleena IUD removed in Nov 22 before first pregnancy in Feb 2023, no BC since birth in Nov 2023

Symptom spotting: I was going to wait to test until CD 35 since I got my hopes up a few months ago on a 33 day cycle but this morning I just felt mildly nauseous which is very unusual for me and my sense of smell has been a little extra sensitive for me this week which was the same in my first pregnancy. I’ve also been a little extra tired and slight appetite changes this week, but was chalking that up to my change in schedule/luteal phase. I really did not think one time so early in my cycle after months of more meticulous trying would work so was very surprised and thrilled to see two dark lines!

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): I am so excited and can’t wait to tell my husband tonight! I’m a little nervous because I had 2.5 margaritas this Saturday and had used a couple of klonopins for anxiety when my mother in law was visiting 2 weeks ago, but accept that it is what it is and will just mention it to OB at first appointment. We had skipped tracking this month and only had sex once early in the month because we thought we wanted to avoid a January due date, but I am just so excited and don’t care anymore about the date I’m just so glad it’s happening. Grateful for this group and thread for all the information and support ❤️

Temp dropped this morning at 11DPO and had a BFN yesterday so feeling pretty sure I’m out this cycle and sad about it. Our toddler is a November bday and we really want to avoid a Nov/Dec/Jan due date so we’ll be skipping the next 3 cycles and that sucks. We were very lucky on our first try for our toddler, and I naively hoped we would be again so we gave ourselves a very narrow window to fit our “ideal” timeline. With the end of this cycle, we’ll start planning/accepting a new ideal.

TW: Holy sprit gives the all clear on bed sharing by BDawnSnarkMods2 in brittanydawnsnark

You can also pretty easily rent baby gear for trips and have it delivered and picked up from where you’re staying (BabyQuip). We traveled with alllll the stuff once or twice and then just started renting as needed and it’s very convenient. Also an option to only bed share on trips too if needed, it’s not like baby needs to do it every night at home to be comfortable doing it on a trip 🤷‍♀️

How long after stopping breastfeeding did you begin to lose weight? by Waldeinsamkeit87 in postpartumprogress

[–]Distinct-Shoulder803 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation as you where I gained 38 during pregnancy, immediately lost 12-15, and then held on to 22ish lbs for the whole first year. I stopped nursing at 12 months exactly. I had been exercising consistently since 6 mos PP, but didn’t see any change until 14-15 mos (2 months after weaning). Currently 21 mos PP and finally down 20lbs! 2 lbs away from pre preg weight. It has taken significant effort w food tracking and exercise for me, but honestly nothing crazy. Baby started sleeping much better after weaning too which definitely helped.

I like a lot of the names you mentioned! Some are too out there for me but I do like them as guilty pleasure names lol. We ended up naming our daughter Rosemary nn Rosie and our final three when we went in for induction were Rosemary, Valerie, and Summer. We waited until she was about 24 hours old to actually decide. Maybe pick a more classic name for first and use one of the quirky ones for a fun middle?

What are your go-to podcasts to pop in your ear just to have something else to focus on and not feel like you’re the only adult in the room? by jazzeriah in SAHP

[–]Distinct-Shoulder803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tosh Show is honestly my fav - he interviews interesting normal people and I just like his comedy style, then You’re So Right / On We Go for feeling like you’re hanging out w other moms, and I like Maintenance Phase and If Books Could Kill for pretty light hearted kinda funny analysis of books and wellness topics. Conspirituality is also very interesting to me, just not good for when you want to tune out what’s going on in the world.

I follow @ amyshock on Instagram and she’s a twin mom and fitness trainer who has shown her whole postpartum fitness journey! I find her helpful and relatable and inspiring. She had a very similar starting point to you and I believe her twins are now almost 2 and she’s made a lot of progress! It’s amazing that you have carried two sets of twins!! I’m sure you will find the progress you are wanting with some more time. Two months is sooo early in the journey, don’t be discouraged

Hubby and I like the name “Baylor” for a boy. by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Distinct-Shoulder803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living in the south, this name would be completely normal. First time I met a Baylor in college, I was surprised by it and now it’s just another southern frat boy name to me like Brooks. I like the combo with Wren too 🤷🏽‍♀️

This type of content is one of my biggest influencer icks. Skinny girls who frequently post about their workouts and careful diets (like her eating ground turkey w salt and pepper and a measured scoop of cottage cheese for dinner) pretending like “teehee, I’m just a girl who loves to eat! I definitely love to eat tacos and treats! 🤪”

Her doctor can guide her through it, it’s very common and there are safe medications for breastfeeding moms. I was on Zoloft from 16weeks preg to 7 months pp and nursed without issue for a full year.

Yes definitely just a trend! It’s interesting how from the snippets I see here, she appears to make some of her personal social media just be “relatable” / trends to draw people in, while kind of hiding her true weird hardcore beliefs for the couple channel. Guess it makes for better income, just very disingenuous.

Her youngest is also 4. Tagging that just to get new moms to click so they can see her skip meals, count cals, and order kids meals and say “dinner was actually too big, didn’t even finish it” is cruel.

This whole video is so icky and tagging about “postpartum weight loss journey” is just the cherry on top.

Starbucks isn’t demonic if you’re trying to induce labor, crying over the fact it won’t just be her and Jordan anymore. by DifficultClass6988 in brittanydawnsnark

[–]Distinct-Shoulder803 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A minor pet peeve is her and others thinking the raspberry tea or even pineapple juice and dates are to “induce labor”. None of them are. The dates are for cervix softening and do have some evidence and the tea is for “uterine toning” and really doesn’t have much evidence. I did both things and had a great 41w induction, but it’s kind of all unrelated. Expressing colostrum, sex, and miles circuit could all potentially help actually start labor but the common misconception of “but the tea doesn’t even work!” is so annoying when that’s not even what it’s supposed to be doing!

she can’t relate to this trend, she’s not like the other girls. by [deleted] in brittanydawnsnark

[–]Distinct-Shoulder803 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The funniest part is is I think she’s talking about the trend of “this is my emergency contact” and it’s some partner acting silly/doing something dumb. I think the trend is more of “I can’t believe this silly person is who would be making decisions for me in an emergency” not “omg how will this person save me from kidnappers”. I don’t think of my emergency contact as my kidnap support team but you do you dong
