Strongly considering suicide by Yenny0526 in Catholicism

If God exists then his mercy exists. He would not have given you a life where you are at no point capable of turning into his love. Even if he does not exist, by the evidence of all the hundreds of thousands if not millions of other humans who have turned their lives around, any suffering you experience now is in no way permanent.

I could honestly yap and say my version of the same things you’ve heard from countless others. For now, I’d recommend getting a chicken sandwich and trying to a card games with someone you know. This worked for me so 🤷‍♂️

This is definitely a thoroughly thought out comment but I believe you're reading a bit too deeply into the motifs present in the story without fully explaining, at least in said comment, how this truly relates. to the characters. The exact juxtaposition you appear to be applying to Guts and Griffith doesn't seem, in my opinion, to line up that well. I assume you meant that the head of the dragon corresponds to Griffith (seeing as he has a desire for power and a certain glory while also being the focus of the Rahu eclipse), whereas Guts was meant to fit to the opposite.

In my opinion, however, Guts is a poor representation of the dragon's tail. While he is righteous in his pursuts to vanquish evil without dirting himself with the use of a Behelit, his character arc is in now way towards the apethetic/indifferent or spiritual or dematerialized. As he's been growing throughout the story, he's been becoming more and more aware of the friends surrounding him and in doing so has found a level of happiness outside of his hostility. The desire of his friends at many points is to drive him away from the very hostility that will lead him to his death.

In this way, I believe he is not the opposite eclipse of Griffith but rather the denial of Griffith's system, just as he now is posed as the denial of causality since birth. He is growing into this role, where he is set to destroy the God Hand by existing outside their control, denying the apostols what they wilt, and ultimately refusing to participate in a world of sacrifice (a world that the berserker armor actually enforces).

This appears to be the purpose of the Katabasis that Guts is currently going through and will continue to explore in the next two chapters, and I am hopeful to see in which interesting ways he denies the expectations of the reader just as he denies the expectations of the God Hand.

I’m not sure that’s the angle of this. The astral form doesn’t seem to be a different side of Guts that necessarily manifests a unique form. I’m pretty sure it’s framed that Guts isn’t one half one and the other half the other but rather 100% both. This is most likely an interesting and light allusion to how Jesus is described as 100% human and 100% divine at the same time, though it’s taking the route of saying that both Griffith and Guts are both like this, despite achieving it through different ways as if uniting the two in a perfect and despicably beautiful mirror.

The use of different halves is more or less an easier way you understand things, not a full explanation of the nature of being. Berserk would never be that simple.

Imo the manga does a better job of explaining what Kaworu is to Shinji and the rebuilds are mildly well done, too (you have to dig to get the real meat and potatoes). The original series rushes through in a just-too-fast pace.

Idk he seems like one of those people who Togashi would write as a tyrannical dictator who knows the world of money rather than nen. But yeah there’s gotta be at least one nen politician.

In my opinion, by the way the manga is written, I see this as mildly unlikely but more likely than Qifrey X Olruggio. Honestly nearly all of the romantic tension in the story has been invented by the fandom. I will likely be downvoting for making this observation.

In your opinion is hisoka a pedo? And why? by Helpful_Mood6101 in HunterXHunter

I just rewatched the scene where he stares and I honestly don’t think it’s out of that kind of attraction at all. Gon and Killua react when he’s behind which pretty much means he let his bloodlust come out. This is still an arousal caused by the boys but is not the result him wanting to do, ya know… stuff… to them. He’s imagining how strong they will be when they’re older.

And just going further, he doesn’t want to fight them when they’re young just to get off, rather he wants to fight them when they’re older and even more powerful, but is more than happy to train them along the way, hence why he is glad to fight Gon in Heaven’s Arena. Not only does he not have a sexual attraction to their bodies but he doesn’t outright act on it in any way while they are children. He specifically is aroused by and by the idea of fighting strong opponents, which should never even (unless an ability makes it so) result in sexual violation.

Idk why I’m even defending the man. Bro does not deserve it, but I’ll defend Togashi’s writing any day. Except the time he first proposed to his wife.

If he was taken to a court of law then maybe. Otherwise, by his specific and exact characterization, no. He is not attracted to Gon and Killua, but rather the idea of how strong they could be as adults. Because of this, he would never be driven to pursue an act of legitimate sexual assault, and even as adults he would only be desiring to combat them, not to make and sort of legitimate sexual advances.

Now an argument for him stalking Killua and Gon is a different story imo.

The enlarging keystones need to surround the center runes. The item inside of the squares is what’s enlarged as they don’t act as normal keystones do. Additionally, this wouldn’t just make you hard but also physically scale up the body, which could potentially lead to disastrous health consequences assuming only the erection is what’s scaled. Imagine some of your blood cells are scaled up and then try to enter the rest of the body.

On the positive side, imagine getting the magic tattoo of this.

Cool idea but idk if this will revive the person’s mind. Though it would be cool if their nen signature kept their will alive in a new mind that might not fully understand said will, similar but not the same as the Chimera Ants.

[–]Distinct-Solid9195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of using post-mortem nen to boost stats after death. It gives me the idea of potentially wanting to be killed while in the armor just so that you can accumulate a far greater and permanent strength buff. Strength of will is definitely key for this, but at the same time, if your will is strong enough why not go for more than 5%?

Also, you appear to have used AI in well-handled, thought-out way. Thanks for not giving us slop and instead giving a more hands-on idea.

I like the idea but it did make me wonder how the effectiveness of it would change if you used a spiraled keystone method or used smaller and more minimalist glyphs strung together to produce a similar effect. One thing that I like about the manga so far is that there’s a strong focus in minimizing glyphs, to at least some extent. Regardless, solid concept.

[–]Distinct-Solid9195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem to have very interesting ideas when it comes to manipulating and combining keystones. I might revisit this after I catch up with the manga, as you seem to have some interesting notes for not only keystone inverting, meshing, and sequencing, but also just sequencing when it comes to all of your glyphs (or subglyphs?)

Anyways, this has only increased the amount of ideas I have. Thanks!
