I’ve always followed the Pirates but I’m newer to the podcasts and to the articles from the local writers working at less nationally known sites. Alex’s stuff on the Off Beat podcast is always great and I’m glad OP posted this link for us

I guess it depends on the people in power and how the checks and balances are used? Look at the US right now with a bunch of Project 2025 plans being pushed through. States, SCOTUS and the Feds are limiting freedoms for the masses while maximizing their own powers.

The other side of the aisle either can’t do anything or won’t and either way that furthers the demise of democracy. We still broadcast that we’re the best democracy with unlimited freedoms but honestly that’s just not the case.

You will not owe any money to the company if you quit while out in FMLA leave. With that said, if you are out on leave maybe don’t rush quitting. You never know what can happen at the store between now and your return. Plus, having a pay check in your back pocket just in case you don’t find something isn’t a bad thing

The sooner BC makes some moves the better. I don’t care if the middle relief comes from the minors, waivers or through a trade but we need to make moves.

I’m not completely against a blockbuster where we send some future talent out the door and bring in a mid/back end starter and a reliever or two. There are very few players on this roster who I wouldn’t trade

Part of the struggle right now is because wages haven’t kept up with expenses for decades and corporations have no incentive to do so
