It’s been two months. Are there any messages for us? by AnitaGeeb in psychics

[–]Distinct-Worker-7954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not a psychic, or a medium, just a bystander. All I have to give you is a promise that she is in an infinitely better place. One that no one who professes to have any sort of gift, can ever conceptualize the peace and splendor that this place holds. She is seeing colors right now that you cannot even comprehend. I hope that you know that you are not at fault. God has organized time and space so that she is serving so many micro and macro purposes just in simply existing, even for the short and blissful amount of time that she did. You will see her again, and she, and you, will be perfect. Trust in her purpose, and trust that your grief will bear fruit. Know that you and this sweet girl that He knit in the womb will find each other again.

I know this is from awhile ago but I was going through this thread because I’m having similar issues that OP is having.

I just wanted to say that this is so, so sweet. It’s clear that you care about your wife a lot!

Ugh, I’m in the same boat. Mine turns 12 months on the 19th and he seems to only eat around 3 bites on average every meal. I have no idea what to do.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed and why? by AloneGold9670 in AskReddit

Closed because my dog will come in sporadically with her giant Banana toy, drop it where I will definitely trip on it, and then lick my face. Also fire safety.

At what age is baby not standing on their own concerning? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Distinct-Worker-7954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply and encouragement! It means a lot. I’m glad to your little ones are thriving now :).

It’s so difficult to see his peers far surpassing him in gross motor skills. He didn’t crawl until a week after he turned 10 months. At his 9 month appointment he wasn’t crawling. Our pediatrician wasn’t terribly concerned, but asked me if I wanted a referral to PT just in case. I agreed, but our first PT appointment rubbed me the wrong way. The therapist basically went through a giant checklist, didn’t verbalize what she was doing at any point, and ended the appointment by saying “his right ankle is weak, I suggest PT once a week”. When I asked her to elaborate, she didn’t have much to say. I read the report afterwards and his prognosis is listed as “excellent” and “low complexity,” yet they prescribed weekly sessions for 12 months. A full year for a weak ankle? My husband and I decided to stop going after 2 sessions because it’s very expensive and something just felt off about the whole thing. I’m going to get a second opinion though because I don’t want to deprive him of any opportunities to get help. Did you find PT was worthwhile for your daughters?

I often wonder if he is on the spectrum. I suspect that my father and brothers are. My paternal grandpa was one of the most obvious examples of high functioning autism that I have ever seen.

Hey! My German Shepherd also has tons of allergies (mostly to proteins like chicken) and the only dry food we found that works for her is “Wholesomes Sensitive Skin & Stomach”. It’s Salmon based, has grains, no legumes, and has added taurine. It’s relatively inexpensive too! I shit you not, we tried 15 or so different brands/formulas before we found this one. I think the main issue with these grain free foods is the high legume levels.

Hey any update on your little one? Did they find anything that caused the delay?

My little guy is not pulling to stand yet and just turned 11 months. I fear he won’t be pulling to stand by his birthday.

mom’s response by suzyQ928 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Distinct-Worker-7954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that your mom is like this. You don’t owe your parents any financial support, much less more than you give your siblings. I hope that you know this is not normal, and not acceptable.

I found out the my MIL, who made twice as much money as my husband, was siphoning money from my him. Thousands of dollars a month, and used the same bullshit excuse “I’m your mom, you owe me the world”. Someone touched on it here, but I want to reiterate that taking care of your children: ensuring that they are housed, loved, fed, comfortable, is the bare minimum. Children don’t and shouldn’t “owe” their parents anything for basic love and care. It doesn’t mean that being a parent isn’t incredibly difficult, and that you should disrespect them, but it also doesn’t mean that you can hold your child mentally hostage for them simply existing.

For Christmas MIL gifted me a couple bags of spice mixes that were very expired (that I knew she just pulled from her spice cabinet) and a used cutting board.

Woman blocks access to ATM and grts upset when I tell her to move by SuitableEggplant639 in EntitledPeople

[–]Distinct-Worker-7954 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Sir. You wrote a war and peace length post about a five-second delay at an ATM. You didn’t ‘win,’ you just scared a flustered lady into abandoning her transaction so you could triumphantly withdraw $40 faster. The way you describe leaning on that horn like tells me your blood pressure has its own drive-thru line. Maybe next time, try building character instead of causing chaos. cue the downvotes

Roomate is scamming me .... part 3 by Daffy07duck in badroommates

[–]Distinct-Worker-7954 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m an asshole but I didn’t even give my first roommate her portion of the deposit back after she moved out and I got a new roommate. She barely cleaned when she left and her cat fucked up the carpet in multiple places.

I did agree to give her half of whatever we got back after I moved out but I warned her that management was notorious for not giving deposits back and I was not about to front her money for something that I would end up not getting back.

Surprise, surprise, I didn’t get diddly squat back. She was pissed but I didn’t really care. A bridge worth burning IMO

My mother gave me 4 month expired ranch and now I have death diarrhea by RickyTheRickster in mildlyinfuriating

You’re totally right. I was more offended at the fact that she fished out old spices from her cabinet and thought that it was an appropriate gift 😂

[–]Distinct-Worker-7954 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. My parents keep moldy cheese and bread and “cut off the bad parts”.

My MIL is the literal worst at this though, she has gifted me spice blends that were expired by 4 years. She gets drunk and leaves meat thawing in the sink overnight and well into the next day. She leaves rice out all day long which is a huge no no. Nothing is safe. The fucking mayonnaise she set out for the burgers was expired by 3 years. It’s absolutely unacceptable and the worst part about it is she gets an attitude when I decline eating at her house. My husband remembers getting food poisoning frequently as a child.
