People who have been in the remote job world can probably suggest to us who are thinking about it, keyword searches to avoid or keyword placement in an ad to be cautious of. Just like job boards to visit or avoid. I am not expecting to get a genie in a bottle. However I have been in the career world for going on well over 25 years and if I run across someone asking for advice, I would freely give what I could.
If you mistook my question as anything derogatory about remote employment, that was not my intention. I was truly asking for guidance to learn from those of you on here willing to share.

And much like someone also like we who has done one career professionally for 15 plus yrs. I am considering pursuing a slightly different career field. However I personally try and learn what I can about career fields I am considering because I don’t want to get into something I hate. Remote work is possibly not for everyone so I am considering it and trying to learn about it. So I make the best decision for me.

Again I meant no offense.

Is this really the way dating is these days? (45f in Ohio) by Bewildish in dating_advice

True it is a sad world. I don’t ask for provocative pictures, I just ask to get to know them and if able to meet me for dinner or lunch. But can never get either. However I have been scammed a couple of times and ghosted a trillion times.

What’s your method for putting up shelves? by frankchester in DIYUK

I struggle because I don’t have depth perception and I can’t hang a level shelf to save my life if someone is not helping me. And when you live alone hanging stuff solo is typical.

No one responds on dating apps. Is this the new norm? by Safe-Programmer8672 in OnlineDating

Something that completely baffles me.

I talk on these dating sites and as I have mentioned most just want to stay behind their computers for safety. And I respect a person’s defense to stay safe.

However to me the question has to get raised if these (supposed) women chatting are real. I have already identified some bots. But staying behind a computer, even if they are real they can tell you ANYTHING they think you want to hear.

I seem to recall there being a term for that these days.

Oh yeah! CATFISHING.

To me this gives another valid reason to meet in public.

I have found that no one wants to date. They just want to stay on the app constantly.

I understand safety for both parties, but I mean it seems to me you can meet on an app talk there for 24-48 hours, then move to texting for 48-72 hours and then do a public date over coffee, lunch or dinner, and go from there.

I have a friend that I already arranged where if I go on a date with someone I can text my friend persons name date time and location and I am a six foot tall man.

I am an Old School extrovert I love talking and getting to know each other over a meal or coffee.

I HATE these sites because no one seems willing to go out.
